Do you happen to know where Gussie Miller/Bolling is buried?

Jim Miller - Cumberland View Cemetery
Hi, I found your flowers & note on Ellen Amanda Jarrett/Miller's page about Susan Mossie Miller. I have a picture of a little girl, about 2 years old and it is addressed to Susie Miller. The child's name is Gussie, but I cannot figure out who she belongs to. My Grandmother, Lillian Jeanette Peacock/Smith had this picture and had passed it down to my aunt Toots. Do you have any idea who this child is? Would like to talk to you to see if we could fill in blanks. Amanda was my GGMother's sister - Martha Louise Jarrett/Peacock - Lille, my grandmother was her daughter.

Lann Cemetery
Two more questions. Do you ever go to the Mother's Day Celebration at Lann Cemetery? I try to go every year - would love to meet you. And do you know Iva Nell Harris Huff from Meridian? I don't know if she is your set of Harrises or the other set of Harrises in this family.

RE: Memorial 28540098
My grandfather is Leonard Meek Faulkner on the back row and his wife, Clara Belle Howell Faulkner, was huge pregnant and would not get in the picture. The two little girls on the front row are his daughters, Rose Marie Faulkner Verch and Viola Maudean Faulkner Brasfield. The really tall guy on the left end of the picture is Stonewall Andrews Howell who was the brother to my grandmother Clara Belle. His wife was my grandfather Meek's sister Myrtle Lee Faulkner. In other words brother and sister married brother and sister. Make sense?

RE: Memorial 28540098
Hi Cuz. So good to get your message. Jean Faulkner - Meek's daughter is the one that gave the initial info and I knew it wasn't quite right but had no one else to ask. My mom was Allene Faulkner - Meek's daughter also but she had dementia long before she died and remembered nothing much. The entire picture is on Landrus or Rebecca's gravesite - don't remember which one and you are welcome to download the whole thing or I will be glad to send you one by email.

Good to talk - Beth

May have found her!!!
Check this link to see if it may be your Mary Burnett-

Was she ever a Cantrell?

If this is her- I didn't get her pic yet but I know right where it is and can probably go back this next week. Heck- I might go ahead today since I am so excited! I sure do hope it's her...

re: Mary Burnett
The local library historian here is working on looking up whatever records they have for her. Did you say she was a widow? Was Burnett her married or maiden name?

Grave is unmarked
Hi~ I apologize that I didn't get back to you sooner. Had some things come up & I couldn't get out earlier. But- I went out to the cemetery & it's rather small and I couldn't find this person buried there. There were several unmarked graves, however. I talked to the pastor, who told me that it was just handed over to the church in the 50s, he believes and that it was a community cemetery prior to that.

We have a family history library in Cherokee County and I have asked for help in figuring out which of the unmarked gravesites may be hers.

I DID get tombstone photos of a couple of Burnett's that are buried there and wonder if they may be your relations: Broadus & Letha & their son Robert ( an infant who died in 1913, according the headstone). Letha is unmarked but there is a head & footstone beside Broadus.

I will upload these since I have the pics, just wanted to let you know. When I can find any records of anything- I will post for you. So sorry I wasn't able t get a shot of your requested name.

Have a blessed day,
Karyl White

re: Mary Burnett photo request
Hi~ I am in the Cherokee County, SC area and got a request for a gravestone photo for someone and saw that you have a request in for Mary Burnett. Just wanted to let you know that I can and will be happy to do it. Is there anyone else buried there whose photo you need? It will be this next week as I work the weekends. I will post it as soon as possible, hopefully by Tues evening. Have a blessed day!

Irene Lee #75787300

I came across this memorial but did not have my camera with me. I just wrote down the information and was going to do research on her later. I don't know who her parents are. If she is related to you I will gladly transfer her memorial.

Hi Marlene, I am from the Lawrence family formerly of Lawley, AL. My Grandfather Herman married Vera Hollingsworth, whose father was Luther Salone Hollingsworth. Someone on Ancestry gave me the link to the photo that you published of Luther's grave. I saw some messages referring to the Lee family, the Rosser family and a Bobby Dodson who I think is a cousin of my Dad's. I think he sent my Aunt June a detailed genealogy of the Lee's who go way back in the Lawrence family and/or the Hollingsworths. I forget. I have the copy and I wanted to reach out to you and Bobby to see if you or he have any more details. I am researching my family tree so that I can prove a connection to an ancestor who served in the Revolutionary War so that I can join DAR. Can you help me? I can't read Luther's birth or death date from this photo. Do you know it? Thanks so much!

Marlene, Would love to know more about the Lee's. Burrell Bassett Lee is 4th Great Grandfather. You have Anna Smith as his wife in find a grave. Some thinks that a Martha Jones was married to Burrell. I have not found any truth to this a yet. Do you have more information on them. Love to hear from you. Thankyou, Peggy

I added a picture of Joseph Brewer's marker, and also his obituary, to his memorial. I also linked him to Bernice Brewer and added her obituary. Hope this helps!

No problem! I know what a pain the older ones can be. The records aren't always correct and you can barely read the tombstones. :)
