Sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to you. I got the other info from Frankie Rhodes, I've sent her a e-mail asking were she got her info, but I can't get her to answer me back.I tried looking in the census a little but could'nt find them, they must be using middle names or someone has listed them under the wrong spelling, that happens a lot. send me a little more info and I'll try and help you. Are you family? Does the info match what you have ?

Allen J. Bennett
You have this person listed in the wrong Bennett cemetery. He is in the other Bennett listed on findagrave. The one in Lodi, near Bennett creek, on CR 216. I was there today. I have the picture of his headstone if you will move him to the other one, I will post it. Thank you.

Samuel Helms
A while back you inquired about the booklet that mentioned Samuel Helms. It is called the Centennial Souvenir, Dixon, Missouri 1869-1969/Dixon Advancement Association. The article is as follows. Samuel Helms came from Kentucky to Franklin County and then to Pulaski County. He settled on a farm wwest of Dixon. The community later known as Helms was named for him. He died soon after the Civil War at the age of 111 years and was buried at Seaton. He had two sons; Joe, who lived for 101 years and James, who lived to be 103 years old. James is buried at the Antioch Cemetery. During the Civil War Sam Helms' home was robbed by the buschwhackers. He said they carried their possessions off on 40 horses. His daughter, Marth Helms Seaton, was the first person buried in Seaton Cemetery about 1856. Her body was hauled to the cemetery in a two-wheeled oxen cart. I decend from Samuel's son John Helms who married Sarah Ritchey. Please contact me if you are related.

RE: Relation Bertie Shearrer
Actually Deanna, I have no documentation on this marriage, but he was a 3rd cousin I talked with on the phone and exchanged letters with. And he never mentioned this marriage, but a 1st cousin of his did. Fayte just told me about the one to Ethel Beaty, (mother of his children) and to Mrs. Dola Ann (Haggett) McCuen. But the parents I listed were on the death certificate, and her spouse's name was listed as Fayte Shearrer. Elizabeth C. "Bettie" was my grandfather John Wm. White's sister. My Dad had fond memories of Otto, and Morie and Fayte, as he called them. Aunt Bettie, Morie and the boys came often to Wagoner when they were youngsters, for visits. Did you get the attachment I sent?Darlene

RE: Relation Shearrer
Deanna, I wrote and asked David Bollinger, a Wayne County Cemetery trustee/representative, (he is very familiar with all of Wayne Co, cemeteries) Here is the question I asked:
Question: I find there is a Woods Cemetery in Patterson, in the Find-A-Grave website AND
a Rowland-Woods Cemetery also located in Patterson, MO, on the website.

Are these two different cemeteries?

On the website, the same people are found in both cemeteries, at least they have the same names on most of them with the same dates.

Subject: Re: Cemetery location

It is the same cemetery; Rowland-Woods or Woods or Woods School House. It is on County Rd. #314 on Camp Creek, just south of Sam A. Baker State Park...It was originally the Woods family farm cemetery and they started letting "neighbors" be buried there.... Shearrer, O'Dell, Bennett..etc.. and it got filled up in a hurry....Mr. C.B.L. "Uncle Neal" Rowland donated extra ground, and so the Rowland was added to Woods.

The old Woods School is still there. The cemetery Association owns it. They would like for the Historical Society to take it over and re-store it, as it is about the only 1 room original school house left in Wayne CO.

My great-grandparents, King Bolden & Emily (Stacy) Green are buried there. They had no family ties to the cemetery at all. They moved to Patterson from Saco (Madison County) in 1920 and spent the rest of their lives in the Patterson community. Today, the Woods cemetery is a "community" cemetery, open to anyone wishing to be buried there.

It appears to me that some of these entries should be listed as duplicates, with the first entered being called entries into the Rowland-Woods Cemetery. I wonder how a person would go about doing this???? Did you get the attachment I sent you? Darlene
