Was Margaret born in Ireland? DO you know where she died? I'll add the places if you have them.

JUST TO BE CLEAR.....
...regarding Ella Nora Mullen Combs; 1) Her birthdate on record is 10/31/1859 and NOT as appears on the headstone. 2) The correct spelling of her name IS: Ella Nora, and IS NOT, Elenora.

I am happy you like the way the photo was marked.

Thank you,
Judi Fryer

Holy cow, yes! this would prove very interesting! It certainly would say loads about my great great grandmother Belle ;)

RE: Jennings Bronston
I sent you an email

As for DNA, I understand that the two main tests are for the direct paternal line and the direct maternal line (mitochondrial DNA). Some of the other tests, though revealing, cost hundreds of $$$ and not many folks are willing to do this.

Then again, Jennings' son...are there male descendants AND are there any male Grays that are still alive that testing by them could be compared to Jennings Jr's male descendants' DNA, if there are any? Since Arthur, by all accounts, is by blood a Gray by factual documentation, what would be the point, IMHO :) Just a thought.

RE: Jennings Bronston
oh ok :) Edward "Papa" Gray, one of Jennings' brothers, was my great grandfather. Other cousins and I were not aware that Jennings was an actual brother until about 20 years ago when one of my cousins found the microfiche birth record. Many things can be speculated and some of the Gray boys were not too fond of Jack. That we know for sure; what really was going on is lost to the ages because the Gray boys didn't discuss much to wives and children about their upbringing.

I am confused by your edit request - I will add what information you provided me to but the "for the record" thing, I don't know why you say this. Both are recorded names, thus I have them on the memorial. I am quite aware of the official birth record of Arthur Gray - I've seen the microfiche. Is it that you would like for me to be more specific of his actual parentage in the bio?

Cemetery on William Ringwald farm
Since the Hitt cemetery is near Salem Church and its cemetery, I can only guess that William Ringwald once owned the Hitt farm, so in some surveys and
obituaries, burial might be given as "William Ringwald farm".

The obituary for William Ringwald states that he "died at his home on the Jackson-Benton road, eight miles west of Cape Girardeau". But Mr. Ringwald is buried at New Lorimier Cemetery.

The Jackson-Benton Road is now County Road 318 and eight miles from Cape back then, would be close to, if not included in, the city limits today.

The Hitt Cemetery is about 2000 feet from County Road 318 and where the Salem Church used to stand.

I posted the photo for Clare Fowler Warneken. The headstone does not have any dates, only her name. She is buried next to Gustav Hermann Warneken.

When you added the obit to her memorial, you added it as a headstone photo instead of other. Can you please delete it. If you decide to add it back, please change it to other so that it will still show that a headstone photo is needed for the memorial. Thank you very much.
