John F Lorah
I found a Baptism for John F Lorah. He was born October 10, 1860 and Baptized March 15, 1861. At Zion Spies Church His father was listed as john and his mother Sarah.

RE: Daniel Gerber #93206482
Unlike most clergymen today, who only serve at only one church, pastors back then usually had a circuit charge which included several congregations (most congregations were too small to afford a full time pastor). The various events were sometimes recorded in only one church record rather than at the congregation where the person was a member and sometimes the pastors were not always careful in which church record they recorded events. Also unlike today quite often the events back then (baptisms, marriages and funerals) were usually held at someone's home rather than at the church itself. Another factor is the fact that sometimes a pastor's own records get mixed in with the church's records. So any events he presided over during his ministry, no matter where he was pastor, look like they took place at the church.

You may want to check for any other memorials you may have placed in the wrong cemetery. If you're relying on a church burial record for death data pay special attention to the place where the record says the person was buried. This is especially true of any pastoral records you're lying on which almost always listed the place of burial.

No, I am not a descendent in any way, I do not need the transfer. I simply have the funeral invitation, which I think does enhance the site, for those who are descendants or looking for information on Alice.

Barbara,

You have submitted Alice S. Graff to Find A Grave Memorial# 100883903, without any photos. I have a copy of the funeral invitation sent out by the family. I can send you a copy if you would like to add it to Alice's memorial, or with you permission I can simply add the invitation to the memorial.

Oswald Edits
Thank you for the Oswald edits. I have been trying to add the gravestone photos that I took recently. I wanted to let you know I did add the gravestone photos for Charles & Messina Oswald that you sent edits for today. I am also trying to link family members so I appreciate your help. A number of the Oswalds in Jacobs Union are related to me either directly or indirectly.

Memorial# 115961829
While I was searching for a different Epler couple in Forest Hills, I came across a plaque for a Margaret J (1913-1992) and Wilbur A (1909-1984) Epler in the same vicinity of the couple I was doing a request for. If you could possibly verify the dates for me I would happily post the photo I took.

Thomas Filer # 129315321
Hello Barbara, I was wondering your connection? I submitted an edit adding James and Mary Filer as Thomas' parents who are also buried at Odd Fellows in Tamaqua, along with 2 siblings in section 4. In addition to his parents there are about 30 or so family members I am aware of including his grandparents John Filer and Eleanor (Filer) Sneddon in section 3 buried in Odd Fellows Tamaqua. John and Eleanor are my ggg grandparents. Another question I have is your record shows Mary E Filer's maiden name as "West" and I have her maiden name recorded as "Luke" I do have records suggesting that was her maiden name but the sources are weak, could you share your source supporting the "West" name .... in addition, James' sister Emma (also buried at Odd Fellows in section 1 ) was married to Thomas West. With Mary being such a common name I found records for both surnames West and Luke. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Colleen Filer.

No problem. My cousins and I are also checking on Flord the son T C Wolcott and C C DeVore. I didn't know he existed. :-)
His birth date was the same. How strange.
Thx for your help.

I noticed that you have provided some more information for some of the Fritzinger memorials ... are you a family member? If so, I'd love to talk to you.
Thanks.

hi there
You and I had corresponded quite some time ago about Zehners. I'd told you about my great great grandma Salinda, and you'd shared some of your research with me. Tonight I was noodling around with Salinda again, and came across some online genealogy that differs from your 1st generation for the family. I'm not saying this person has it right; I only recall you were a serious researcher, and I thought you might want to see it for yourself in case it sparked any new thoughts or added to what you know. It's here.
