Fannie King Clark # 88758370
We called Oakwood to see if they had anything on file for Fannie. They did find a card which identifies her grave as Section 4 Lot 45. The card was unclear, but it is suspected that the grave was unmarked. (as appears to be with nearly all our Clark/King people) My sister in law had planned to be in Austin this coming week and was going go by Oakwood to photograph the site. The lady we spoke with is going to have the grounds crew make the site with a little purple flag on or about Apr 22nd. However, an unexpected matter has arisen and my sister in law has had to cancel her plans. We were wondering if by any chance you were going to be near Oakwood in the next week or so and could photograph the site for us? You cancelled the photo request, do I need to reactivate it?

Many, many thanks for your great effort and work in the Find A Grave community. Becki

RE: Fannie Clark
Liz,
I looked at http://www.austintxgensoc.org/cemeteries/ and didn't get anything. I noticed their site says Oakwood is in process. I know it isn't complete, there are other family members that have been located and photographed who are aren't in the database. Fannie's death certificate and my mother in law's journal states she is buried at Oakwood. So I feel fairly confident she is there, where is the problem. Should I try calling the office? Some cemetery offices are extremely helpful, others are NOT. I appreciate your efforts in helping me track down these Clark/King women.

RE: M. King, Oakwood Cemetery
Thank you so very much for your efforts at Oakwood. I don't have a William Henry King in my database, which is not to say he doesn't connect with my King family some how. I say go ahead and upload the photo. It might not benefit me, but may certainly help someone else. Again, thank you for your contributions to Find A Grave.

Liz,

Thanks so much for your willingness to help. I really appreciate that. I need people like you to help. I'm 1800 miles away.
Take care and I will be in touch on Frederick, if new information comes up.

Thanks for the links and for your time.
I tried both links and came up with nothing.
Frederick Hauer's wife died only 4 years before him, and she's in Oakwood; but apparently they have no record for him. Did he get entered as Haver?
Other than that I am out of suggestions right now.

Sarah Allen Hauer
Liz,
This is my bad. You have sent me a picture of her unmarked grave site, under Sarah Haver. Here is what your wrote:

This grave is unmarked, but Sarah Jane Hauer is buried in Section 4, Lot 917, NW 1/4, of Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, Travis County, Texas. Her grave is to the left of the tree stump.

I couldn't find the grave because Robert Sage has her listed as Sarah Haver.

I'll ask him to change it; but I don't know what this tells us. I did take out the data about Frederick living in Williamson County. I had a bad piece of data. There shure were a lot of German Americans in Williamson County.

RE: Sarah Hauer Frederich Hauer
Hi Liz,

I looked through each cemetery on that list that had a active link. Most did. They are not listed.

The only concern I have is that they might be in a private cemetery, McNutt Allen or Allen McNutt. My thought is that Sarah was an Allen before she married Freidrich Hauer.

Don't know what to do with that. I'll poke around on the internet to see if I can find a way to contact the owner. If you know anything or anyone to ask, I sure would appreciate it.

Thanks so much,

Steve Burton

RE: Sarah Hauer Frederich Hauer
Thanks for the genealogy link. I don't anything except birth and death dates and last residence.

Sarah Jane Jenny Allen Hauer was supposedly buried in Oakwood Cemetery according to the death certificate, but there is no record at Oakwood.

Dec. 24, 1842
Texas, USA
Death: Feb. 18, 1916
Austin
Travis County
Texas, USA

Friedrich "Fritz" Hauer
My 2nd great grandfather
Birth Abt 1840 in Germany
Death about 1920 in Williamson County, Texas, USA

was living in Taylor, Ward 8, Williamson County according to the 1920 U.S. census. He was 80 years old, so maybe he was buried in that county.

Sorry I don't have more.
Thanks so much.
Steve Burton

And thanks so much for your help in the past! I recognize your name.

Thanks, Liz, for the info. My last known address for them is Williamson County. Are you willing to check with cemeteries there, to see if one or both are buried in that county? I know that's a lot to ask. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Liz, thank you so much for both of your photos. What an improvement! Tootsie was one of only 2 aunts I had, and I loved her dearly; spent lots of time with her in Austin. Thanks again.

Hi Liz, I'm from central Missouri. We just made a visit to Davis City cemetery to photograph the headstones of Sly's buried there. I took several pictures of other headstones. 3 were of Mae, Robert and both headstones together. I put one on each of your sights. If you don't want the pictures listed let me know and I'll remove them. Thanks Vickie Schley (Sly)

I noticed that the picture you took was just of an "area" of the cemetery. Is there no headstone?
