Robert Franklin
Jeremiah Mead family
I am the great, great grandson of Hugh Mead through his daughter Frances Mead who married Truman Tingley. After my parents died in 2005 we found a bundle of letters from Walter, Benjamin C, and Eliza Mead to Hugh. In addition I have a hand written marriage certificate for Hugh and a death certificate for Charlotte Mead Gaston in the hand of E. C. Close. I am in the process of putting all of the letters and documents on my computer along with the scanned same so that they can be printed front and back and opened side by side to view the scanned letters and the transcription. The transcription is a rather laborious process because of the hand writing and condition of some of the letters which date from 1831, 1832, 1846, 1851 and 1856. If you will give me an email address I will send these two documents as an attachment.

Lee Martin
RE: Amos and Catherine Mead
I looked at the photo again and it is Catharine. I'm used to using the more common spelling.

RE: Amos and Catherine Mead
At the top of Catherine's gravemarker it says "Catherine" even though it is faint. Many of the older stones are badly worn. Ninevah is a small cemetery a couple of miles north of the county line on a hill. I snapped as many photos as possible (most of them are family) because most of them I'm directly descended from or are correlative lines.

Amos and Catherine Mead
I submitted the photos I took a few years ago. The inscriptions are hard to read because they're so badly worn. Sorry I had to "break" up the stone but that was the only way I could good shots (or the best ones I could get) of the inscriptions.

How wonderful that you have these family photos to add to the site. I am delighted to make the transfer. Do you know if Mr. Morris was at the Battle of Natural Bridge?
