Walter Farris
Hi Norm,

I was reading Walter's memorial page; there are a couple of corrections & changes to be made.

Walter had two more siblings who were omitted; their names are Nevada (Farris) Nally and Grace (Farris) Lamp.

Also, Walter was buried in Farris Cemetery, at the head of Piney Fork. (You have him listed as being buried in Melvin Kirk Cemetery.)

Thank you,
Jennifer Farris
(Great-niece of Walter Farris)

Fanny Evans, 55018657
Norm,

Over Memorial Day weekend I visited the Maynard and Phelps Cemeteries in Breeden, Mingo County, WV. I spoke with the cemetery owner and several families who were out attending to the graves.

Fanny is buried in the Maynard Cemetery. This is a common mistake by people as one has to pass through the Maynard Cemetery to get to the Phelps Cemetery. Please make this correction on Fanny's memorial.

Thank you,

KC Thacker

Norm, would you please link Rufus' parents. Their tombstones have been found in our family cemetery (Baisden Whitman). Am still researching death date for Abijah "Bige" Workman, his father as I can't read the stone. The Find A Grave # 130445080 for his mother Alice Porter and 130445117 for his father. Thanks

Fanny H. Evans (Workman) #55018657
I was at the Phelps/Maynard Cemetery today and inventoried the cemetery. My notes have Fanny's tombstone as reading:

At Rest
Fanny Evans
May 4, 1892
May 22, 1954

She is buried next to Richard Evans, b. Aug 17, 1857 d. June 5, 1943.

If I'm able to get back to the cemetery before I leave the area, I'll take a picture of the tombstone for you.

America Sowards
I have read the information you posted on the memorial for Emery Mullins. Do you have any idea why his mother is in some records called America Sowards, and in some, including Emery's death record, she's called America Bryant?

Hello! You said you were looking for confirmation, and I can let you know that one of the daughters of Ben and Jennie was my mother, Mary Frances. She passed away in Akron, Ohio in 1968 when I was four. Hope this helps.

I am sorry I don't have any info to pass along but I was wondering if you have come across a Bell Holley from Kanawha Co. WV that was suppose to either married a Lucy Higginbothum or Higginabotham or a Lucy Tackett from Kanawha Co. WV. Thank you Angie

Billy's father's middle name is incorrect, it's Lester, NOT Leslie. James Lester Roark was my grandfather and Billy was my uncle.

Thomas S. Gore
Thomas is my Grandaddy. He worked most of his life in the mines. Barely survived a runaway tram that ended up crushing his ankle. Which coincidently, led to his death as he could not get out of the way quickly enough and was struck and killed by a car. That's the luck of a coal miner. All of Thomas and Lucy's sons are still living. Unfortunately, my beloved Aunt, Mary Elzabeth Gore Perry passed into her reward on October 1, 2009. Since then, life is a little less lovely.

Isaac Marion Nelson
I saw where you posted a picture of rev isaac marion nelson. He was the founder of my home church Mountaineer Missionary Baptist Church but we know nothing about the man besides that the church is dedicated to his memory as many of our older members have passed away. Was hoping you may be able to provide us with a little history.
