RE: James Simpson
I am sorry to say, that is all there was. I poked around the ground for flat stones but found nothing.

Thanks

RE: Staffords
Thank you! Yes, George Stafford was my grandfather. One of his sons was Fredrick Stafford, my father. I don't have any pictures of him. And who are you?

Stephen Mitchell
I tried to find Stephen's gravesite in Elmwood Cem today but he's not listed in the city cemetery records. I was able to find his obituary today that states that is where he is buried. There are empty spaces on both sides of Cordelia, but Otto Mitchell purchased her lot in 1938 I think it was. I will try to go to the city and see if I can find out anymore. I will transcribe his obituary for his memorial for you. I am putting a photograph showing the empty spaces on both sides of Cordelia's grave. If I find out he's buried in another location I'll see if it has a stone. Otherwise he may be in an unmarked grave.

Yes, you may use my photos for your family's trees. If you need for me to get more pictures from Salem, it is right down the road from me, and I would be very glad to do so.

Simpson family transfers
Hi Lucy - I've updated the records with the information you provided. I'm not related to the family and thought perhaps you were so I've transferred their records to your care. If you would prefer not to have their records - you can transfer them back to me.

Thank you for doing all that you are doing!

Continue to take care.

- Linda

RE: Wetzels
Hi Lucy,
I am in the process of transferring them to you. I just transferred John Wetzel to you but I found his obituary and add it to his memorial. Now you have some information on him and it has some of the other Wetzels I will be transferring. I hope this helps you figure out where they are in your tree.

Sandra Tucker
Wm Holderness Family
Hello again Lucy. I'm just now working on this family tree this week. Thank you MUCH for all the info / photos. Please feel free to make corrections and comments on my efforts on ancestry.com GreenGrassofSummer family tree. FYI. Wm and Maggie Holderness Sr. only had 3 children on 1880 KS census. John Edward Holderness b 1873-1951 back in Iowa (not KS or NE) is son of Wm Walter & Maggie (from Ireland) Holderness, Wm Sr's uncle. Hope this finds you well and happy. Sandra in Arizona

RE: Kittler tombstone Pic
You're very welcome! Salome is in one of my favorite sections to work in; almost all the stones there are "city-issue stones" like hers, and I enjoy locating and clearing them off a bit so they can be remembered. Our ground isn't quite as thawed out as I'd hoped, so I couldn't clear her off as much as I'd have liked, unfortunately.

Have a lovely weekend!

I just wanted to let you know that I have used your photo of the Knights of Phytias cemetery and attached it to my Simeon M Booker on my ancestry.com family tree, with attribution to you and Find a Grave. Thanks very much for posting it! Gwen

Re: my above 3rd cousin 4x removed (yeah, not really close), I will be using the drawing of him (which is wonderful) and headstone photos. I do always try to credit findagrave, but generally don't credit person maintaining the memorial. I understand your frustration, not so much about the headstone photos as that's why I posted them, but regarding the family photos I post on line - especially ones I post on ancestry that are downloaded by someone and then reposted. That is just plain duplicitous as they can just so much easily attach them. Just found some of my grandparents that unknown folks have reposted and I know I am the only one with a copy. I've decided to start taking them to task for it by posting comments.

Unfortunately, in the beginning I did not credit as well as I should have as I was just doing it for me and not public. Trying to correct as I find them. Lastly, I especially love the headstone photo by Lynn Scheets with all the flowers!

Cyrus Makemson
I have not done any pictures for awhile, so today I took my lists to the public library to save myself steps and time. Unsure if you have all of this so will put it here and then try to get over to the Huber Cemetery, which is not far from my house.
Cyrus: 7-26-1820 DOD: 8-5-1906
Wife: Arabella 4-30-1890 65 y 4 m 5 d
This information from Bill Makemson 4/20/2010
Thomas Makemson followed his younger brother John to Logan County Ohio where he settled on farm adjacent to that of his brother John. This farm is now owned by John Kinnan of Bellefontaine, Ohio, a grandson of Cyrus Makemson. Thomas Makemson lived to be 101 years old. Thomas Makemson was a great hunter according to Ohio historical records and killed many deer and bears. The family burial place was on Thomas' farm, but when remains of family were moved to the DeGraff cemetery their tombstones left on the farm where in spring of 1950 the stone of Johnson Makemson was found along fence in barnyard in good state of preservation and showed John died Feb 21, 1889 age 74 yrs 1 month 27 days. This was the year his cousin John, son of John II, died in Indiana. The remains of the Thomas Makemson family are on one end of the Lyman Doan lot in the Degraff Cemetery.

I have found and retaken a picture of the headstone you requested. The names were not readable when I found it. I cleaned them and took 4 pictures. Posted the best one. Still not great but the stone is very polished and you get a glare if not taken at this angle. Hope this helps. D.

How are you related to Elisabetha? I don't always follow the Find A Grave guidelines, but I do like to know how you are related before I transfer a memorial.

Martin Harmon
Hi Lucy,

I put the info on Martin Harmon in for my husband who is the 6th G G son of Martin and Tryphena Poole Harmon. He descends through Sarah who married Oliver Harmon. I was quite lax in putting in additional information. Thanks for drawing that to my attention. Sometimes doing genealogy there are just tooooo many lose ends to tie up. I have written to James Lovell a couple of times to ask him to link Sarah to Martin and Tryphena I hope he does so soon. I have updated that dates and added a bio to Martin. If you have any suggestions or corrections please let me know
It is always wonderful to connect with distant cousins. Which one of Martin's children do you come through??

Vicki
