RE: Royles at St. Mary's Eccles
I don't understand why you don't understand what's written on my page. It seems quite clear to me.

However, ... I'll explain, I was contacted by a very cheeky (polite term for them) American, who asked me to transfer everyone with a certain surname that I had added to Findagrave. They said they had someone on their tree with that surname, (it wasn't even their own surname). They said that the person was thought to come from England, ... to me that meant that there was no proved connection to England, or Lancashire, or those that I had added, so they didn't get any transferred!

I don't collect everyone I can with my own surname, and Findagrave have rules about people not attempting to do that!

I do transfer management, even with relationships outside the Findagrave management transfer rules.
I've had a brief look at this family, and found I also manage the parents of Frances Agnes née Stott. Tomorrow morning, (when I'm fresher), I'll have a closer look at this family, and transfer them all to you. But to start now, I'll just send you a couple of relationship edits!

Good evening. I'm glad I could help. Yes it's a little tough to get pictures when you're so far away.

RE: Royle graves
Well, I went back this morning and yup, it says "of Lancashire, Indiana" which is a county up there. Bizarre but true.
I have 3 or 4 close-up photos I can send you if you want them, or I can post one to the memorial - I think the max photos is 3, but that may have changed. Your call.

RE: Royle graves
I'll do my best to check out that bottom line - might be just a normal kind of 'rest in peace' tag line, but we'll see.
No telling if all 3 are buried there, or any of them. It's possibly just a memorial or commemorative stone and they're buried in Texas or wherever else they may have died. There's no office at the cemetery, so I'm not sure you'd be able to find out. Death certificates may have some notations, but then again, they didn't always record the deaths of children. I'll do what I can & let you know what I find.
Glad I could be of some help.

RE: Royle graves
Yes, it does say 'infants of' and I could be wrong, but the very bottom almost looks like it says "of ____ ______ Indiana".
I'll be back there in a few days or a week, and I'll try to remember to look at the stone again and read that bottom line.

Hi Sue,

You're very welcome. Glad that we could be of assistance to you. We always enjoy visiting Indiantown Gap as it is a beautiful military cemetery and we get to visit Pete's parents grave site when we are there.

RE: Albert, Isaac, and Joseph Royle memorials
I don't know if they're buried together or not, but chances are good that they are. The old surveys were usually done row by row and recorded that way and I can see from the page the Royle children are on that they're listed together. As for cemetery records, they're almost non-existent here in middle Tn - only 1 or 2 very large cemeteries have any kinds of records and they're sketchy when you get into the early 20th and 19th centuries.
I actually don't know what the book is called - when I copied it at the library, I never copied the front pages, but I know it was put together some time in the early 1980's and shows surveys from the 1960's and 1970's of local Cumberland County cemeteries, even some that don't exist any more and/or were on private land. Ok, just checked the local library online and it's called (believe it or not) "Cumberland County, Tennessee Cemetery Records" by Betty Nail Castillo published in 1984. Best of luck finding a copy - it's been out of print for a long time I think - try searching e-bay or contacting the cumberland county historical or genealogical society - they may have or know where you can get one.

You are very welcome! I was there taking photo's of other headstones and theirs just caught my eye, so I had to take a picture of theirs too. That happens to me a lot. I'll head to a cemetery to fill a request or two and come back with dozens (or more) extra photo's. I love the older cemeteries! I love looking at the old headstones! :)

Enjoy! :D
