RE: #123920245-Robert Everett Dunn
Please go to the memorial and use the edit tab in the upper right-hand corner to make your request.
Could be that he is listed in the wrong cemetery. If the cemetery is Oakwood, there is an Oakwood in Richmond and in Charlottesville area.
If you have any problems let me know!

RE: Williams & Walker Interests
Thanks. I doesn't sound like we have mutual interests. The Williams family is from Sand Mountain, Alabama and before that Meigs County, Tennessee. The Walkers in my wife's family are from Morgan County, GA and before that Burke County, GA and North Carolina.

Hi, Jane,
thanks for the suggestion to change Green Hill Cemtery in Buena Vista, Rockbridge County.
To be honest, I don't know how to do that , as this is the choice that automatically came up on findagrave.com. If you go to cemetery lookup and type in Green Hill and USA and Virginia and Rockbridge County, you will see this is what is already programmed into the findagrave site.

I hate to sound like a dummy, but if there is anything else I can do, I don't know what it is.
Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.
Shelley

RE: Jessie Hardeman NUNNALLY Wray
Hi Jane....

This is so strange -

When I researched my tree - I have one Hardeman (Sarah Amanda Mood) who probably married a Hardeman, but we don't know. The strange part is that she & her husband Josiah Nunnally adopted a daughter named Mattie Estella Wray.

So you know there must be a connection!

I will try to do some additional research & see what I can dig up!

Happy Hunting....

Lorie

Hello
You asked me if I have any further information on the "Panteon de Oriente" in Durango, Mexico. I just know that is very old and quite pretty..
I will see what I can find out for you. I don't speak Spanish but I know folks that do and I have been thinking for quite some time of either calling them or writing them a letter to try to get a photo of my Grandfather's grave. I know he had no stone as he was quite poor.
What makes you think Robert Walker MacDonell is buried there? If you want I will include his name in any correspondence I have with the cemetery..

I went ahead and transfered the memorial. I haven't forgotten hat I wanted to correct the inscription but things have been really hectic and I haven't had a chance to stop by the cemetery, But I will be stopping by sometime in the next month as I also have family there. I'll let you know when I do.

I will be more than happy to transfer this memorial to you. But let me stop back by the cemetery one day this week and correct the inscripition on the memorial first. I had tried to do it from the photo but wasn't able to read it all. I meant to go back and do that but forgot about it. While I'm there I will see if I can get a better close up that can be read. May be the end of the week, depending on the weather.

You are more than welcome to use the photo. Just give credit to - Debra Wilson.

Thanks

Glad to do it Jan. Sometimes it's easier to photo slab headstone when they are wet. Sure it's ok to use my Walker photo's. Good luck to you. If I can help again please let me know.

Find A Grave didn't cut off the bottom of the photo I don't believe. The original isn't much better. I put the transcription on the memorial which I got from the WPA transcription. I'll see if I can get back to St. Paul's to see if a better photo is available.

Evidently no marker was found. The name William Toddington Rudd (Memorial# 67564879)is how the cemetery records read. Not sure what you want changed.

RE: Ellison D. Stone
Good morning from Michigan. I copied the pics that I took to the other memorial for Ellison. Actually, I don't believe that he is any relative of mine from my Oklahoma Stone branch. We were in Athens for a wedding and had some spare time and saw this lovely old cemetery. We came across the marker quite accidentally so I took a picture or two. I always take pics of Stone's, Donaldson's and Bentley's and create memorials for them, wherever we travel. Anyhow, I took the pics, created the memorial, not seeing the other one already created. Hope this takes care of what you wanted done.

Rudd lots
Photos of Rudd stones are up. I created quite a few memorials.

Minerva Kate is in a different place from the others, as you may well know. Her stone is very close to Wilkes Street, lying on a slope near a utility pole. I don't think anything will disturb it.

Photos are up for Rudd memorials, which I added last night. Please let me know if you see any errors, omissions, etc. The rain is back...

So my profile pic looks eerily like your mother? That's quite a coincidence, since your cat looks just like my niece. Maybe we're related. :)

RE: Pollard Plot-Methodist Protestant Cemetery
The plat was sporadically updated and never complete. Church originally sold east lots, then west lots. Later they filled in edges and also purchased land from Presbyterians to expand, adding more east, west, and south lots.

Lots with low numbers (W5 and W6) are a little easier to pinpoint, especially if they were not resold. I'm starting to think W206 is not even on the plat. I also did not find the Henderson name. It's possible that the Hendersons bought their three lots (W198-200) later, or from a previous purchaser.

Deeds were handled... unconventionally. Many but not all original sales were recorded, with or without lot numbers, in the left column of a ledger book. The deeds themselves were left completely blank for the most part. When they were resold, the blank deed was scissored out. A very large amount of information is missing. Still, it would be worth a look at the library.

I traipsed the area today and took some photos. Will post within a few days. I know you have many photos and don't expect you to keep mine.

It's a beautiful day here and I was glad to get outside. We will keep at it and solve more mysteries.

RE: Pollard and Rudd lots
Very glad that you find value in the images; I photographed the plat in hopes that pictures would help somebody someday.

Would you like me to delete the images from the memorial, now that you have downloaded them? They don't necessarily apply to Ann Pollard. I'm fine with leaving them up or taking them down; it's your choice.

Enjoy your task!

Pollard and Rudd lots
On Ann Pollard's memorial, I just put up photos of two portions of an old plat that I photographed at the library. One section shows Rudd lots W5 and @6. The other shows possible locations for W205 and W206, but the numbers don't match Pippenger's notations. Maybe you will recognize names of lot owners.

You don't have to leave the images up, but I thought you might enjoy them and want to download them, or save them as screen images.

RE: Ann Pollard
Dear Muwzik,

Thank you for getting in touch. It's lovely to hear from a descendant who is interested in the Pollard markers at Methodist Protestant Cemetery. I have transferred Ann to you.

If you need any further information, please let me know. Since that cemetery no longer has a congregation, I try to look out for it a bit. I also have a photocopy of Pippenger's reading from five years ago.

The church records are archived in the Local History/Special Collections room of Alexandria Public Library. Although they are fascinating, they are also incomplete and not very well organized.

Best wishes to you.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Bee

ROBEYs of Merrifield Cemetery
Dear muwzik,
With the very few surnames in your managed collection, along with the interesting bio data, I feel I am writing to a distant relative. I am descended from Tobias & Lucy through Clara. Should you be related I would certainly appreciate you e-mailing me at my personal e-address so we can compare family trees. If per chance you are not related and don't mind, I would greatly appreciate the transfer of the Merrifield Cemetery Robeys to my care, where I will preserve and maintain their memorials with all my ability.
Sincerely yours, in Find-A-Grave brotherhood,
e49
