Judy Stanley Burris, transitioned to her heavenly home on November 10, 2015, to join our Lord and to reunite with her partner and soul mate of 32 years, Kenneth Burris. She was born on August 26, 1944, to the late Walter and Roma Stanley of Roanoke County and was predeceased by brothers, Jack and Ray Stanley; sisters, Arlene (Oscar) Willis, Gaye (Arthur) Lancaster; and brother-in-law, Clarence Altis. Surviving is a brother, Elton Stanley (Evelyn); and sisters, Mauvieleen Altis and Dawn Stanley. Special friends who were so loving and supportive over the years became part of her extended family and include Jane (Matt) Blackwell, Karen (Bill), Mandy, and Chris Burton, and Jim Mason of the Roanoke area. Also, from the Hampton Roads area, are Kay (Bobby) Wilkerson, Carmel (John) Adamo, Ann Ellis, Jessie Davis, members of the "Lucky Ladies" luncheon group, and Jamie (Jerry) Caddy. RE: Stewart Cemetery
Thank you so much for your message. While I certainly don't do this for recognition, I love it when I locate something someone has been searching for. The cemetery is located on Seneca Hollow Rd. After you go under the railroad tracks, it is approximately a mile on the right. There is an old barn with a broken cattle gate. It is posted, but... If you are at the barn, just behind it, on a little knoll, is where the cemetery lays. You cannot see this from the road or the barn. I didn't see any stones till I was right there. I went in December, so any time before fall is probably not going to yield results. I can give you more precise directions, if you like, and even screen print the topo map and email it. Just let me know what I can do to help.
The graves are scattered and there are bushes in the midst, so there very well may be more there.

Iddings family links

I have your request to connect children of Henry & Martha Iddings to their parents. Problem is, there are duplicate memorials in duplicate cemeteries. Those in Iddings Cemetery, Terry's Fork were created Sept. 10, 2012. There are three memorials in that cemetery listing. Those in Iddings Cemetery were created earlier, Mar. 19, 2012. I did not create either of these memorials.

I photographed and entered memorials for most of the latter in June, 2013. I began with the earliest Find A Grave cemetery and was not aware of the duplicate records listed for Iddings Cemetery, Terry's Fork at the time. There are now 158 memorials in Iddings Cemetery.

I would suggest that we link your Iddings family relatives to the earlier memorials in the larger cemetery data base.

Enora Whitenac and Clyde Chambers
Hello Al,

You sent an edit to add Roy Clyde Chambers as spouse to Enora's memorial but she was born in 1870 and he was born in 1910. I did a lot of research and only found Delaware Merit as spouse and he is buried next to her. Found no connection to Roy at all. Could you tell me where the info connects Roy to Enora?

I am out of town for a few weeks but will check messages.

Goff Family
Thank you for the information you've provided on the Goff family.

My great, great grandmother was Sarah Lucy Margaret "Sallie" Goff daughter of George Washington Goff and wife Sarah King. Sallie lived from 1868 to 1961.

Sallie's first husband was Manderville Cook son of Ephraim Cook and Jane Martin. They had five children; George Madison (my great grandfather), Lewis Houston, Oris, Jackie Joe and Mary Etta. After Manderville died Sallie married Luther Pettry and had Grace Lou and Delva Mae.

I have more information on the family members which left Roanoke and settled in Summers Co., WV.

Thank you,
Carol Pack Urban

Thanks for the interesting bio. After reading about the battle of Franklin and the enormous Confederate losses in Widow of the South, I'm surprised he survived at all.

RE: Sadie Catherine Yopp Ensminger
Hello. Yes there are different people who have spelled and called her different names but her name actually is suppose to be spelled:

Sadie Cathern Yopp Ensminger

Her granddaughter was named after her:

Cathern Belinda White Grimes, my great, great grandmother. :)

Thank you for sending her father's memorial. I will ask the member who has her memorial to add her father.

Stay in contact!

Thank you for bringing to my attention the wrong date on Louise Linton Weimer and the mix-up on Theodore Linton. The girl that did the original memorials transfered all to me. I have fixed everything (I hope) and deleted a couple of duplicates. Will you please go back to the memorial for James Dudley Linton #22178878 and re-add the clock that said Time passes memories stay, also to Ray Stanley Linton and leave Jesus holding the baby. I had to delete the duplicates of both, Dudley and Ray. Both in Sudley cemetery in Prince William County, Virginia. My mother was Rita Alice linton the daughter of Charles Leaf Linton, and grandaughter to Theodore James Linton of Paint Bank.....Thanks again, paula
