I'm in touch with the daughter of Richard and Helen Merritt. She said that she would like to have contact with the relative doing the research on the family. She visits the Merritt graves often and may have information that be of help.

I'm asking because their daughter was a friend of mine in school 35 years ago and we've recently been back in touch. I have the pictures and will hopefully get them uploaded this weekend.

Just fulfilled the Lehnhoff requests. Next to Wilbur and Marie is a marker for W. Leroy and Marjorie Lehnhoff. I took pictures. If you add memorials for them, please request the photo and I will add them ASAP.

|laelliott||RE: Lenhoff requests|
Just confirmed that the spelling on record with the cemetery is Lehnhoff. Will get them within the next week.

I'm trying to find out where in Dulaney Valley the Lenhoffs are buried. I contacted the office and they have no records of any Lenhoffs. I did see the obit you have on Wilbur's page and am checking again. Could there be another spelling? Thanks.

|Ronnie Combs||Ethel I Edwards|
I'm trying to locate information about my father's (Robert A. Combs) family. His mother was Eula Vera Patton. She passed away when he was a child some time between 1930 & 1940. According to census records she had a brother George R. Patton and a sister Ethel Patton. Her parents were Alfred and Stella Patton.
In 1930 she was 23 and living in Galax Va with her husband William I Combs (23), 2 sons Robert (my father - 1) & Glen (3) and her brother George Patton (19)
The 1920 census shows Alfred W Patton (36) & Wife Stella (34) and 4 children - Eula V (13) Ethel I (11), George R (8) & Virginia M (4 7/12).
Any information you might be able to provide would be appreciated.

I can do this request. Have already visited the cemetery and gotten the site of the graves. Violet's date of birth is 12/30/1922
The heat index was 100+ today and I had just come from the eye doctor's. didn't expect to be dilated today, so between the heat and the sun, I couldn't stay and hunt for the site today. Will get back to you asap

|Donna Sutphin Armentrout||RE: Elijah Ogle|
We know the general area of where the Eli Ogle is I just can't seem to find the cemetery. It is located on Route931(Trout Branch Road)outside of Hillsville We attempted up a old plantation road and came to a huge No Tresspassing sign..lol
This is the google GPS 36.784151,-80.766332 of what looks like the cemetery to me.
I have a couple friends that live in that community and have asked for their help in finding out exact location of the cemetery.
Eligah Ogle and Sarah Shockley's graves weren't marked along with 12 others at the time the Carroll county Cemetery Book was printed in 1990
But there are 19 that were marked.
My husband and I will make another attempt to find it this weekend(Weather permitting)

Fantastic photos at the Elijah Ogle cemetery.
Was that all that was marked in the cemetery? If not I will make a trip out there.
Would you like me to transfer Elijah and any others, I'd be happy to.
