Lafayette Smith and Harriet Rose
Do you know where Lafayette's wife, Harriet Nancy Rose, is buried? I found her death record on www.familysearch.org with an image, but it doesn't give a place of burial. I'd like to link her to her father, John Henry Rose, Sr., who is buried in Givens Chapel Cemetery, in Pike County. I've not been able to find her mother, Elizabeth Pry Rose. She was 31 in the 1870 census record, so she probably remarried. I've not been able to find her with any of her children, but then again, I haven't been able to find her last child, Mary M. Rose after 1870.

I don't know if you're a member of Family Search, but if you join (free of charge, no obligation), you can see the actual images of the records, not just the transcriptions. I trust the actual images more than the transcriptions. Here's where her death record image is:

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F6CK-FMX with a link to the image.

Thomas Kirk
Hi Judy

I recently photographed and transcribed Jacksontown Cemetery for the US GenWeb Ohio Tombstone Project and when updating Find A Grave memorials at the cemetery notice you had Thomas's month of birth being March, I put in a edit request for your approval due to the inscription on the headstone.

Thanks

Rebecca Hulse at Brennan
Rebecca Hulse is the daughter of Joseph G. Hulse and Achsah "Axie" Gandy. Her great Grandmother Should also be in the Brennan Cemetary. Her name is Sicha Hoagland 1759-1838. Her great Grandfather Joseph Issac Hulse is in Clark county.

I was not able to find the Cemetary when I came back last month. I was looking north of the intersection and I guess it is a little further east.

Thank you for taking pictures.

Addendum to previous message:

Also the father's initials appear to be a "T" rather than an "F". Do you have information to substantiate his name?

Thanks again.

Is there any way you can resolve the discrepancy in dates? The volunteer who photographed the headstone indicates the inscription reads "4ys 9m 1d" making the birthdate 28 June 1834. Your information indicates age 49 at death. Do you have other information to verify her age at death? Thank you.

John Wood
Hi Judy! Just wanted to say a huge thank you for your information! John Wood is in my "extended" family tree, connected thru my hinton line and several generations back from that.

Here's what I have ~ John Wood, born 1780, Stow Creek, Cumberland, New Jersey; died 21 Aug 1852, Pharisburg, Union, Ohio; married Phebe Bradford, 1782- Mar 1855, child Ingham Wood(married Anna Maskill), and their sons Albert wood and then John Wood married Mary J Hinton

Hope this helps you. My first ten years I grew up between Pharisburg and Magnetic Springs on Rt. 347. Went to Pharisburg Elem and then Magnetic Elem. What fun to find all these familiar names.

Just wanted to give you the info on the Brannon Cemetery, John Wood.

Judy,

I have 1858 on my family group sheet, but your memorial still says 1859. Is 1859 the correct year for their marriage?

We still need to get together! :-)

Your Welcome
Judy,

I am glad I could get the photo you wanted. The cemetery is in the middle of no place. It was a very nice cemetery and very well kept. The grave stone was by itself. Like it may have been one of several plots but, the others were unused. But, that is just a guess on my part by what it looked like.

Gwen Thomas
walter lockwood
Judy,
It was my pleasure to help out with the photos. The photos I have are Walter's children, not siblings (I think). They are Alice Lockwood Mahaffey, Charles Lockwood, Clarissa Lockwood Dillion and David Lockwood w/ his wife Mary Jane Harsha Lockwood. I know I have a family sheet on them somewhere, but can't lay hands on it right now to confirm that these are all children. I do have another researcher's family trees that trace some branches back to 1600's Suffolk Co. England. Do you have the info on Edmund Lockwood and his wife Ales Cooper/Cowper married Sept 3, 1592 in Suffolk and immigrated to Cambridge, Mass. in 1630?
If you don't have this information, I would happily copy and send it to you.
Gwen
