you have a short bio on 28964523 that her mother Elizabeth Dycus was an indentured servant and etc. I have Elizabeth Dycus father as James Dycus and his father as Edward Dycus. All born in US.
Also Jane Ray Sloan's father George R Ray was son of James R Ray and Jane Allison. The Rays and Allison's have a long history in Tennessee and North Carolina. Jane Allison Ray's borther Joseph Allison married Jane Donelson and Betsy Madden and lived in Smith/Jackson area.

Vicki Lynn Holycross Rulong
Sloan family
Hello, Joanne,

I noticed that you have a memorial for George Ritchie Sloan. His son, Joseph Richard Sloan was my grandfather, Clyde Sloan's father. My mother is Joe Ann Sloan. I am interested in any information you could give me on this family. My gradnmother, Avon Wilson, divorced Clyde Sloan in the early 1940's a we have very little information after that.

James P. H. Gore
James was buried in Pitts Cem. next to his wife Alice. The Corp had to move 20 cemeteries when Table Rock lake was created and Pitts Cem. was moved to Joseph Philibert Cem. near Kimberling City, MO. Have a great day.

RE: John Hampton
well,my husband's gg-grandmother was Louvenia Melvina "Bunch" Sloan, daughter of Sam and Jane Ray that means you are a distant relative of his? thanks for clearing up the Carmack confusion... we are going to a family reunion the 24th and we like talking about ancestors, just wished we knew more about Louvenia and where she is buried. Thanks for all your help Joeanne, you've got so much info on Dora's family that we didn't know about and we are most grateful to you :)

A family in Tennessee
RE: John Hampton
your welcome... it really does go on and on doesn't it? haha... we gotta stop at some point.... I have another question I'm confused about on weather or not Edward Carmack is an ancestor of my husband's great grandma,Dora Jenkins Wolfe... I think he's only related by marriage to a cousin of hers... am I right? this is so confusing...we think it's neat that he has that statue at the capitol, but I don't think he's an actual ancestor of my husband's....I promise I will leave you alone after this,lol... :)

John Hampton
I found a Lydia Hampton 1610-1692 daughter of Thomas Hampton on ancestry...wonder if there's a connection? the link I posted below shows that our John Hampton had a daughter also named Lydia who married Charles Gordon...John's mother could have been named Lydia?could be wrong, just curious,lol... there is so much involved in genealogy research, thought I'd ask someone far better at it than me :)
