Harrison & Mary Higgs of Effingham co. Il.
Unfortunately your request for a tombstone picture can't be filled. Their exact burial can't be found as the stone that marked their burial has been lost. Their descendants still own the property and know about where they are buried. Roger Bailey

Name: Colclasure
I was doing genealogy research and thank you for the posting of an Allen grave marker. I'd also invite you to look for the Colclasure clan page on Facebook. Members there are interested in relationships of people with spellings other than "Colclasure."

Frank Marshall Beasley
You created a memorial for my great-=great-uncle Frank Marshall Beasley.

Is this just a headstone you found in the Lexington cemetery or a relation? I'm trying to contact his grandson Joseph C. Beasley III.

Almost all my Beasley ancestors lived in Lexington at one time. I've visited there three times over the years. Are you from Lexington?

Hinshaw photo requests
Hi Teri,

I have recently claimed your photo requests for Hinshaws at Hinshaw Cemetery in Danvers. It looks like the cemetery is on a family farm. Before I walk up to their door, I was just going to ask if you are related at all, which may help my entree?

Thanks!
Gigi

FAG__FAQs

Never apply bleach, ammonia, shaving cream, chalk, flour, baking soda, cornstarch, firm pressure or use anything abrasive. Do not post photos of recently chalked or shaving-creamed headstones.

Consult a professional before any attempt to clean a headstone is made.

Reporting chalking: Existing chalked headstone photos can remain UNLESS there is an already existing non-chalked photo OR until a new non-chalked photo is posted.

Also, if the chalked photos appear on memorials that YOU have created and maintain, then you can ask to have them removed if you object to them, at which time they will be deleted. In such a case, report the photos to photo@findagrave.com. Use the same email address to report members who are continually posting chalked headstones photos. [Top]

Hello, Teri. I'm very happy to find your site here this morning. I so often come across your name while searching for ancestors of mine and figured we must be related some way. So that would be thru the GROVE tribe. Margaret Eva Wright (Grove) was my 3rd great grandmother and Wm Henry Grove was a gr gr uncle, so am twice related to Grove family. You have accomplished an amazing amount of work. Maybe we'll bump into each other in a local cemetery some day.

I was excited to find some family in the Scrogen Cemetery at Lexington. Little Nancy Rolston's grave though, is hard to read with some grass covering one of the letters. She is the daughter of -?- and S Rolston. Can you help?
Thank you so much, Marilyn

Sophia Elizabeth Bear
Sophia Baldwin Bear 79127964 is the daughter of Elijah Baldwin 57331035. If you could link her to her father, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, did her biography on her memorial come from a newspaper originally? I was so excited to find her memorial because I haven't been able to find much about the Baldwin family.

Debra Rosenbloom
Mason Union Cemetery
Hello,

Could you please use the following information in the description for Mason Union Cemetery?

Mason Union Cemetery was organized June 1, 1880 from land furnished by Calvin and Louisanne Layson. When you look at the cemetery from the road, the "left" side of the cemetery is considered the older part, with many of the graves having been moved from OLD TURNER CEMETERY, which is less than 1/2 mile south of the Mason Union Cemetery. According to the book "Effingham County Illinois, past and present", "One should not be confused with dates on graves and monuments in Mason Cemetery, as there is a reason. The older TURNER CEMETERY, scarcely a half mile south, furnished many of the occupants and their grave markers. During a period from 1905 to 1909 Tom Flick and Henry White moved many from Turner."

The best proof I can offer, besides the book and County Clerk Record in Book 20, page 447, is, my GGGrandfather, William Colwell died Dec 1879, and is now buried in Mason Union Cemetery, but Mason Union Cemetery was organized in June 1880.

Thank You,
Debbie Rosenbloom

Hi Terri,

It's been 30 days since I sent you some SACs for some of the Dawsons at Dawson Cemetery.
Should I send them to you again? I am not sure if they have fallen through the cracks or not, because I can see you are still active.

Please let me know if I should send them again.

Thanks for all you do :)
