Good Hope cemetary
Today we visited Good Hope cemetary between Wetumpka and Tallassee. I was looking for the grave of Earley Atkins. We have lived in Millbrook AL for the last 20yrs and traveled past this going to Auburn. Early was my father's brother (died 3yrs before my father was born). We found the grave along highway 14 going back toward Wetumpka. The headstone is leaning. Who tends the cemetery? I would like to talk with someone about fixing it. Also where is the church located now? How would I find if Pa Bunk & Granny were members of the church. My dad passed over 15 years ago and was the 8nly surviving child they had. Thank you for your help!! Patricia

RE: W.J. Robinson
There is a W.J. Robinson buried at Riverside Cemetery and a William J. Robinson buried there too.
William J.'s headstone has no dates. He died May of 1924 and he is buried next to Talitha Amanda Robinson.
The W.J. that is shown to be buried in Riverside died Feb. 1922, does not have a headstone and does not have a spouse buried next to him.
I have attached headstone photos for William J. and Talitha Amanda Robinson.

Mary, Have you had any progress in finding out who the spouse of W.J. was? I sent you an email a couple of days ago and have not heard back from you yet. Julie

RE: Good Hope Cemetery
Hi Mary, I was glad to hear from you. This day and age one never knows what's possibly happening to those you know.
I was sad for you in the loss of you FIL. I was really close to mine also. It is the memories that get you through.
We, too, have been having our issues. Jim has been in and out of the hospital this past month. Winging through that.
Just hoping all was OK with you.

Blessing to you

Mary C

Good Hope Cemetery
This is really wonderful, the pictures you have added to Find A Grave. I saw where the population has increased quite a bit. Manual labor was about the only way to get all the names in there.

I am going down the list and adding the death dates that have not been entered yet.

You are just amazing and dedicated to this project.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Mary

Pictures for Good Hope Cemetery
Mary, it is amazing to finally see the burial numbers being where they should be for Good Hope. Will be interesting to see where we end up from the original 372.

You are doing a GREAT job and I know a lot of families will be happy to see the information there.
Thanks for this endeavor,
Mary Crain

RE: Exer Sanford's Parents
Hi, thank you for linking Exer to his parents (I notice now I said "her" in my request - woops). He was my great great great uncle so I'll be happy to manage the memorial if you don't mind. Thanks.

I'm sorry that I didn't get a photo of Amanda Stacks at New Liberty Cemetery for you. I overlooked it somehow. I will look some more on my next trip. I do have more photos of Ephraim & Hannah Stacks if you are interested.....Craig Burton

You're very welcome and I'm glad I could help. I was concerned F. M. Stacks might not be the correct one. Honestly, I'm better with dates for the Rev. War and Civil War than the Spanish American War. :-(

Francis Marion Stacks
Mary, I hope this is the right F. M. Stacks. This is a rather surprising cemetery - quite small. Lots of new burials, yet only a very few older markers - like this one for Francis M. Stacks. I looked pretty closely and this is the only marker that was a possible match.

Beside him are several burials marked only with stones. I'll include a pic of those for placement with his marker at this memorial.

Oops on the first try...sorry, I hit the wrong key. You have a picture of a headstone with the following names: Cumie Thornton and Ida S. Turner. Ida is listed in Find A Grave as Ida S. Turner Thornton. I believe that these two people are sisters, not spouses. Cumie Thornton was the third wife of William J. Thornton and Ida S. Turner was Cumie's sister who never married. If I am wrong, please let me know.
