Missing a child of Roscoe Frank Derr
Hello! I had found that you were maintaining the information on the Derr family and I have an addition to the children of Roscoe Frank Derr. My grandmother is his youngest child. Her name is Betty Sue Derr, born in 1931. She married James Philip Barber in (I believe 1948). He passed away in 1995 and she has since remarried Virgil Hughes. Thank you,
Kelli Davis

Blanche Warner
I completed your photo request for Blanche Warner. She is next to her mother Fannie Laura James Roberts and Charles L. Warner. There was no memorial for Charles, so I created one and transferred it to you. I loaded a photo of Fannie's marker to her existing memorial, memorial 16269058.

Thank you for so quickly addressing the edits. Are you related? I ask because I noticed you have a Tillman Connections Virtual Cemetery and Annie's mother was a Tillman. Our Tillman's are from Trousdale Co/Sumner Co, TN during that time but wondered if there was a connection.

Re: 132073237 Harriet Martin
I fulfilled your photo request for Francis Martin at Double Springs Methodist. I didn't see Harriet Eliza nearby. However there was a field stone marker beside Francis Martin with no inscription. That could be the marker for his wife's grave.

Thank you for the correction. As you know, death certificates often do not have the proper name of the cemetery listed - just the name of the city or town. Additionally, when folk set up the cemeteries on they fail to add a detailed narrative so that folk like me can determine if the cemetery is traditionally African American or Anglo... I appreciate YOU...

Lilla Mayfield Martin
Englewood Cemetery has no record of a Lilla M. (Mayfield) Martin being buried here. We have a Lillie Mae Martin, wife of George Walter Martin, b. 6 Jan 1889; d.30 Jun 1968. We also have a Lillian Martin, b. 9 Aug 1902; d. 27 jul 1977. Space Owner is Katherine Maxwell. In our cemetery records, there is no Lilla, Lella,or Lila; M. or Mayfield; Martin other than then one you added. You state that she died in Slaton, Texas. Did you find a death certificate for her? I could not find one. I noticed that there were family members buried in neighboring towns where she may have been buried. Mercy Hospital was a large hospital in Slaton that served many neighboring counties and towns. Patients who died there but were from other towns were usually taken back to their town of residence and buried there. At this time, I cannot confirm that Lilla Mayfield Martin was buried in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton, Texas. If you have more information, I would be glad to check it out. By the way, do you have the full name of C.B. Martin who was the father of the male infant buried at the foot of Mobert Anderson Martin's grave. Also, do you have the mother's name. I could not find a death certificate for him either. Thank you for your help. Sorry I could not be more helpful to you.

Elizabeth Elvira Johnson Neighbors
Re: 55898505

I've left a note on Elizabeth Elvira Johnson Neighbor's memorial. Her parents were John Martin Johnson and Martha Jane Anderson- my GGgrandmother was her sister. I found a Neighbors source on Ancestry which has the incorrect parent info posted on this memorial- I've left a note with them also. Thanks, Dana

RE: Tubb (# 129646152)
I ask that you reconsider and delete your photo from my memorial for Georgia Tubb. I am being polite but it is frustrating when, as manager of the memorial, I am not able to decide which photos are placed on the memorial. I do not want your photo on my memorial and ask, again, for you to remove your photo.

Thank you,
Alex Roller

This is my third request.

Please delete your photo from my memorial for Georgia Tubb (# 129646152). I did not ask for your photo and do not want your photo. I am frustrated that you continue to completely ignore my requests.

Thank you,

I have not had a response to my note of May 26 asking for you to post an uncropped clear photo for Georgia Tubb as I originally requested.

Please delete your photo so I can make a new request asking someone to post and e-mail me an uncropped clear photo which shows all of the grave marker in the photo.

Thank you,
Alex Roller

My note with the request asked for an uncropped clear photo which shows all of the grave marker in the photo. The lower part of the grave marker in the posted photo is cut off because of the tight cropping done. I really would appreciate an uncropped photo which shows all of the grave marker in the photo.

Thanks and have a great day!

C. c.,

Thanks for your note. It doses make sense. Amazing how one piece of the puzzle changes one's outlook on family history.

What misled me, is that William was lsted as a son. It always help to play with a full deck.

Now I can go into my family tree on and correct this error. You don't mind if I place your e-mail in William's bio on my family tree to explain his birh? I'm sure there are other researchers that has gone down the same rosey path.

Yes, we are distance cousins and our paths crosses with John Hill and Jane Dodson. Cynthia Hill is a sister to my 2nd great-grandfather, Chrismon Hill, who is also buried in Bates County as William is, just different cemeties.

I was out earlier today searching for the marker for Sarah. I just wanted you to know that I found her husband's headstone in Plot Addition 5 and did not find a stone for her there. So if she has a marker, she must not be buried next to him. If she is buried next to him, she has no marker. There was already a photo uploaded for husband so I didn't add one. Thanks for your time.

You are most welcome. I will be putting a transcript together sometime in the future. Really appreciate your contributions. There were only about 20 names listed in this cemetery before I started this project. My fiancee is related to the Starretts in that area.

RE: Georgia Stone Whatley
Hi, No, not blood related. Your Grandma's sister Anna Farinette Whatley married Robert Elsdon Attlesey, The Attlesey's are my mothers family, they come from Soham in Cambridgeshire England. Robert's father was Edward Attlesey b 1820 in Soham. Edward's paternal grandparents took their 4 orphaned grandchildren to the US in 1836, brave of them as they were both in their 60's & it was a 3 month sea journey. Edward's parents were William Attlesey & Ann Elsden, which probably accounts for the middle name of Anna Whatley's husband, the name got passed down to a few of the later generations in the family in the US and I doubt that any of them know where it came from, which is a pity.I saw the lovely photograph of your grandma, do you mind if I add it to my tree on Ancestry (it's not a public tree), I've got a few photo's of the Whatley family. My email address is if you want any more info'.Cheers Silvia. (Good luck with the election results)
