The End
I was so sorry to hear what happened to you. Thank you for all you have contributed to Find A Grave over the last 7 years. Your work is greatly appreciated by me and I'm sure others! I am sorry you are discouraged by the things that can happen on this site. I take it one day at a time. There have been lots of problems on Find A Grave in the last several months. I'm wondering if its worth all the hassles of late? Enjoy life now.....

RE: Permission to use photos
Thank you! Don't know if I saw any obits you had posted, but there are some on the memorials I've visited recently.

I wonder if I may have your permission to use your grave marker photo on my family website. Check it out at This is how I'd be using the photos and obituaries I find on Find A Grave, with 'used with permission' in the caption.

Thank you.

Hello MidwestAncestree,

I'm asking for your permission to use the photo of Oliver on my family tree . Of course.I will give you full photo credit. I feel you got a bum rap for all your work you achieve on Find A Grave. The rest of us really appreciate your work on publishing the obits.

Thank you for the Family Links and for all of the work you did here at Find a Grave. The obituaries are such a treasure, nothing like the sterile ones we see today. Best wishes to you in your work wherever you choose to do it, a loss to our community here at Find a Grave.

Added by RoseOfThePlains on Dec 08, 2014 5:24 AM

I'm sorry to hear about the obituaries, I really appreciated reading those for my family. I was told that there are limitations to the copyrights of these obituaries so maybe you needn't remove all of them. Thanks again and best wishes to you in your work and research.

Dircksen Brothers
Hi Joanie,

Information on the twins came from the Maloney Funeral home records. They are also listed in the online North Platte Cemetery records. From the old North Platte Cemetery book, it looks like Daniel & Simon were buried in a different Lot. Then reburied with their brother Dallas.

Hope this helps,

David Goltry

You can post an obituary if you rephrase it as "Information" or "bio".

i.e. Joseph Smith was the son of XX and XX. He was born in XX on XX XX XXX. etc.
No one can stop you from providing a bio and you can add if someone is interested in the actual obituary, to contact contributor _____.

What a tragedy this is for all families that will never know the story of their loved ones that have all that precious info. in their obits
This is the way it is all over the world, (a few complain) and THEY change the LAWS. You see it time and again in this country. The countless hours/days/months you have spent on this
What a shame

I'm sorry that you've been asked to remove the obituaries you have posted on find-a-grave because I am so very grateful to you for posting my husband's gr gr gr grandmother's obituary. We probably would never have it if not for your kind effort.

High Plains
Henry Franzen

Saw that you requested a photo of Henry Franzen's marker (plus his wife if there) in Sentinel Butte Cemetery. When I see a request I always look at the bio of the person who requested the photo.

I was VERY dismayed when I read what you had to say about being asked to remove the obituaries you posted! When I first started doing memorials I only added name of parents and spouse if available - well plus dates, of course. Then I found a memorial for my great aunt that had an obituary on it. I was THRILLED!

There are always a few "rotten apples". I am so sorry that you had the misfortune of being a victim of their malice. I would dare venture that there are many people who really appreciate/appreciated the effort that you put into Find a Grave!

There is a saying in Latin (which I don't know in Latin) - it translates "Don't let the bastards grind you down."

Best wishes,
High Plains :)

I could not find his wife. If you want the picture of the back of his stone I can send it to you. But it only shows that he is buried there. Sorry.

Keilwitz in Hebron
Marie Keilwitz was with Otto Keilwitz and the closest grave was that of Henry Kripal (1923-1985). If you would like a photo for either of these, please request and I would be happy to add a photo.

I just saw your post about being asked to remove your volunteer work. How very sad and hurtful for you. I want to tell you how much I appreciate the posting of headstone for Anna Sager and Arthur Sager to Find A Grave. I live a good distance away and rely on the good heartedness of people like you to fill in the gaps in my family tree. Thanks again for your efforts.

De nada; you're welcomed ~ and per request, people by Nancy Jones who seem to be family and pix added: Nancy Joan Duhigg, Margo Drucker (mother-in-law of John Duhigg), & Dr. Cassius/Cash Duhigg (son of John & Marjorie Kennedy Duhigg, brother of Nancy Duhigg).
