Steve Hanken
Bohlken family
Bob,
I'm a little bit connected to the Bohlken's, of which there are three different families in the Jones County area of Wayne and Scotch Grove Townships. Unfortunately if they go back only a few Generations in Germany, they are all connected! Adolf"Boots" Bohlken who married Rorden has several brothers and sisters, Mary Bohlken, his one sister, never married. He has a brother Henry who was married and had three sons, two are ministers and probably retired by now the third works in Iowa City. Brother Carl "Chuck" Bohlken is buried at St. Johns, one sister who married Lewis Collman is buried at Wilcox cemetery between Fairview and Viola; another sister married Frederick Hanken (Not Fred A. Hanken my grandfather) I believe she is still alive although her husband died some years ago, they had several daughters and on son Bill. Hope that helps! Steve

RE: Delta Cole obit.
Should I just leave it as is, and maybe put [sic] after the word "brother"? [Keep in mind I work in law, ha ha.]

Delta Cole obit.
Hi Bob. I'm not getting the part about "brother of Lucille Melone of Long Beach." I'm not sure if it's just because I'm working too hard right now, or if there is a mistake. If Delta is female, why is it referencing her as the "brother" of Lucille Melone? Can you please clarify this?

Regards,
B.J.

Bob, I never knew you could only do one link at a time! I've always done all 3 if I have them, and never had it not work before. I don't like that, gee, not good. I've thought about taking the donkey story off now, but a lot of people are getting a kick out of it! ;) Yes, the obits are always a nice thing, although they are getting more picky about them also, saying copy writes etc. It always was if you gave the source you could add them, if it's a new death and family is living, I try to just use first names, but in years to come it'll be harder to find their children. Thanks for the obit Bob, it is the WEIRDEST thing, I don't know how it is happening, BUT from the obit I linked her parents to her. Then I got your edit for her father, sure enough when I looked neither parent was linked, so added both again! Now got your edit for the mother and looked and sure enough she wasn't on there! WHAT THE ? is happening! This has been happening for several months, where from the obit I add the parents, then will get a EDIT with Mother or Father UNKNOWN! That will be in RED! Is this because Find A Grave is under new owners? Have you had any problems like this? Luella

You are more than welcome. It was a cold day to be out there, but I found her without leaving my vehicle, so she was one of the "nice" ones. lol.
Cheers,

Don't know much about her personal life, but a girl I worked with was best friends with her. I will ask her and then relay the info to you.

Joseph Orr, Matilda Crooks and others at Oakleigh Cemetery
Bob, we've taken some photos of Joseph Orr and Matilda Crooks, and found an infant William Crooks. The cemetery record for Joseph might be particularly useful. Le me know if we can be of further assistance.

If you put Gordon or Storms into the "search contributor's records" on my profile page, you will see several other entries I've made with those surnames. I'd be happy to transfer any of them if connected to you in any way. :)

You are most welcome. I found some Orrs in Niles City Cemetery. Memorials were created for them except one . You might want to check. I know not all from here are related to you.

Take Care, Dianne

Hi Bob,

They have it under Siskiyou Memorial Park...it's on Siskiyou Blvd, and so maybe that's the real name of the cemetery and Perl actually is the funeral home. We all call it Perl cemetery.

I see Joseph and Elsie. Let me know if you add the missing family members and I will see if I can get photos for you.

Pam
