I checked with the cemetery staff, and they confirmed that he was cremated in Graceland Cemetery, but his ashes were returned to the family. He has an existing Find A Grave memorial #18567828 in Springfield Illinois. I think you should delete this memorial in Graceland Cemetery, Chicago. Regards, Bob Lerch

Mary Gale Rogers
Memorial #117800551
William's birth is listed as 1861 on his stone rather than 1862.

He was the son of James A. and Mary Thornton Mitchell. Would you link him to his father, memorial #50865418? Mary Thornton Mitchell died about 1842 and burial place is unknown at this time.

Thank you,

Mary Gale Rogers

Was wondering if you could furnish me any info as to where you found that John Dunn was buried at Hope Cemetery. He died in 1832, and Hope was not dedicated until 1852. Thanks for any info you can provide me. Larry Dunn

You have mentioned in his bio that he passed on the witness stand. You cited newspaper articles regarding the trial and fatal event. Could you please sent me those articles or a link to them? I have an Aunt that tells me he didn't die on the stand and that his wife was holding his hand, in a hospital, when he passed.
Thanks in advance,

Mary Elizabeth Williams Hall #128046179
I found an obit on Ancestry. Not sure the paper source. It indicated she was cremated with no indication of ashes burial. I'm not sure how much of this you want to post so as to leave out any living relatives.

Memorial services for Mary E. Hall, 86, Springfield, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Mercy Villa Nursing Home with Rev. Ambrose Sperandio officiating. Mrs. Hall died early Tuesday morning in Mercy Villa Nursing Home. A native of Illinois, Mrs. Hall attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and taught school for eight years in El Paso, Texas. She also taught in an Indian school in Albuquerque, N.M. She was past president of the American Legion Auxilliary, Carbondale, and of the Altoona Club, Danville, Ill. She also served as superintendent of a children's home in Danville for several years and was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Joe, Georgetown, Ill.; two daughters, Betty Greene, Springfield, and Dorothy Townes, Fresno, Calif.; three brothers, John Williams, St. Louis, Robert Williams, Bedford, Ind., and Russell Williams, Atlanta; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The body was cremated at the Greenlawn Crematory, Greenlawn Funeral Home-South, Springfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Villa Care Fund. "

Good luck. LV

Hi, This John Splithoff was born in August 1860 (per US Census in Chicago, Cook, IL). The year of birth is also on his death certificate (Cook County Deaths Index, 1871 - 1920). All of the other information agrees with my records. Harry Stephen Splithoff (buried in the same cemetery) was my wife's grandfather, so we have done research on the Splithoff family.

Thank you,

Lee Vavrinek

Thomas is my great grandfather. If you are not a descendant of his, could you please transfer management of this memorial to me? I have already put up memorials for his wife (my great grandmother) and her family and I'm now moving on to his side of the family. Thank you for your consideration.

John MacGregors Forest Lawn Glendale CA
Hi OJ,

It turns out there are two different John MacGregors buried in Forest Lawn Glendale. You grabbed the wrong one as the spouse for Agnes. It didn't quite add up so I did some research and determined who the correct John MacGregor was and added him with partial dates. If you could fill out any more information you have I will add it -- also send me your virtual flower as an SAC and I will add it to his bio section, then you can delete it off the memorial for the other John MacGregor.

I will be declining your edit but please send me the correct info on the new memorial for John MacGregor

My wife's grandmother, Inez M. Post was NOT buried in St. Boniface Cemetery, Chicago, Cook, IL, but rather in Montrose Cemetery, Chicago, Cook, IL. (If I remember right, these cemeteries are very close to each other). We have visited her grave, and even taken a picture of her tombstone. We also have a copy of her obituary in which it states that she will be buried in Montrose Cemetery on March 27, 1926.

Thank you,

Lee Vavrinek
