RE: John Eugene and Georgia Evelyn Stokes
Your welcome. I grew up going to Coy Methodist Church and when I first got involved with Find A Grave, there were only about 195 interments there so I took pictures of all the tombstones and added the rest of the interments. Still have a few to add but can't read the stones. Will have to go back and do rubbings of those.
Glad to help. This has been a worthwhile project.

Gully Gravesites
Hey Mary Joy,

You are very welcome. My Mother is a Fulton and she grew up at Coy and we grew up going to church there every Sunday. My grandmother was a Stokes, so I am related to all the Fulton's buried there and most, if not all the Stokes.

I was glad to get the pictures. The Find A Grave site for Coy had very few interments, so I have added the majority of the people that are now listed there and now have about 350 more names to add to this cemetery.

The Gully graves were a little difficult because they are small, almost flat headstones, so you have to walk all the rows to find.

If you need anything else, please let me know. Hopefully in the next few weeks, Coy Cemetery will be complete!

Transfer co,pleted.

I also researched for his wife, but the only thing that I can find is a record of their marriage which was recorded in Ann Brown's "Jeffferson County Mississippi, Cemeeteries, Etc., Volume II" p. 65.

This page also records his tombstone as being in an area with" no identifiable lot markers".

There may be open space next to him, but that could be for a variety of reasons as this is the older portions of the cemetery.

Ann Brown's survey of the Fayette Cemetery was completed in 1994/5,

RE: Ida Wnston Wylie Shaw Treadway
I will look for her again under the name Ida Shaw. I know there are some Shaws in that cemetery.

Ida Treadway
I have searched the cemetery and also consulted the book "Cemeteries of Berrien County" by Sue and Johnny Hancock and cannot find a headstone or a listing for an Ida Treadway. Could she possibly be listed under a different name?

RE: Leah Baker - Beth Eden Cemetery
I found the obituary for Lula Dumas; it did not mention her mother's name. Oh well.

RE: Leah Baker - Beth Eden Cemetery
Mary Jo, thanks for your reply :-)

Jacob's first wife was Eve Margaret Kinard; if Leah's maiden name was Kinard, that would add an interesting mix to the family! I would love to hear anything else you come up with. I'm related through Jake and Eve, their son Edward Simeon, here in Arkansas.

We have Nannie Baker Lowe's obit, but it doesn't mention her parents. I have one more possible obituary, for Lulu Baker Dumas, d. 1940. The other Jake/Leah descendants that are in Arkansas passed away before 1930, before the local paper has records (there was a fire). I'll let you know what I come up with.

Hello, Just wanted to let you know that you spelled John's last name wrong. I am sure it was a typo. You spelled it with an e instead of an r. Just thought you should know. :)

I looked and could not find his wifes tombstone. You didn't know Varnell because her tombstone says Nell, that is what she went by.
