Great work on this family. One comment-there are 2 obits. 1st says died Tues Morning, 2nd says Christmas Day. I double checked and Christmas was on Tues so this puts his death as Dec 25. You may have another source, but thought I should point this out.

Thanks for the work you have done.

Samuel Michaels 1926-1926
A couple of years ago, I photographed all the stones in Spring Valley Cemetery, Monona County, Iowa, that had not been previously photographed. My records do not include a photo of this Michael. Being he was a very young child and the family moved on to distant places, perhaps they didn't get a stone put up. He is listed in the cemetery records. I'm sorry I couldn't provide a photo, but if I can be of further help, let me know. Ruth Pickle

RE: Fitzgerald Cemetery
Sheila,
I don't know how often you get to the cemetery but it had gotten in quite a mess. My boyfriend has family there so we have been doing the maintenance for about four years now. During this time we are slowly clearing brush, cutting down trees, and repairing stones that have fallen along with doing regular mowing and weed eating. This is a pretty slow going process but we do what we can as our time and finances allow. We have located several stones that were totally buried, some were from the "Clark" family. I don't recognize the names you mentioned but I will keep my eyes open and I will post pictures as we find stones and get them put back up.
We are proud of the work we have done, it is looking better all the time. I hope to get some pictures posted soon of the entire cemetery. Thank you for your nice comments.

He is actually in the Riverside Cemetery in St. Joe IN with his wife Martha...if you could make the change, I have a grave marker picture to post on his memorial if that is okay. Thanks so much.

I see your photo request and will see if I can find it. You have no dates for him and assume this is a burial from long ago. Did he die in the Civil War?

Roselawn Photo request
Would you contact Roselawn and get the plot locations of those you are interested in. Last I checked they would not provide me with info on plot location, don't know their reasoning.
Sent me the locations and I will get the photos for you.
Without that I cannot help.
Dave

Samuel Michaels
I have not found a stone for Samuel. However, I did find a Samuel Michaels in the Moorhead History Book with only his name listed--no dates, which probably means it is an infant. Only two other Michaels are listed--Leslie C. and Margaret. Sorry. Ruth

My son is buried at Forest Hill, and I will be going there in a few days to change over the decorations on his plot, so I'll see if I can find your person while I'm there. There's not too much snow on the ground right now, so it shouldn't be burried (unless the weathermen are way off, but I wouldn't put it past them!) I'll let you know what I find.

RE: Catherine Kibbons family
You are very welcome! I am happy to help. I am so sorry that Katherine's marker photo was sideways. It was very strange that the picture was fine when viewed on my Ipad but sideways on my PC. I have corrected it.

RE: Mary Drake Potter
Mystery solved...the date on the stone in Jordan/Fairfield cemetery is incorrect. Found her funeral home records in the library this morning.

Born 4/29/1855 Ohio
Died 1/18/1936
Buried 1/20/1936 in Jordan Cem

80y 8m 19d

Wife of Levi A Potter
Daughter of Archer Drake born Ohio...no mother listed

I would send a SAC to the person in charge of her memorial and ask they put her correct information in the bio since rules state to put what is on the stone in the pertinent areas.

Have a good one!!

Mary Drake Potter
I can't find her in my records. If she is there then she will probably be unmarked. I can double check at the library when I get a chance to see what the funeral home records indicate.

There is a Mary and Levi in the Jordan/Fairland Cemetery just outside of Villa Grove (same county). You might want to check that out and see if they match your records.

Will get back to you as soon as I can!!
