Dianna Geisert
Georga Ann was married to my great grandfather, Joshua A. Gorham, my father's grandfather. My question is this, can you tell what is on her headstone bottom left? Seems to be another name and date around 1891. I noticed also that the name on headstone is "Gorga", not Georgia.

I see what you mean. I deleted mine. It's been a while so I can't remember where I got the information I had.

Just wanted to say hello again. I still find it so crazy how intertwined our families are. Too top it off...Melissa & George's spouses uncle is buried in the same cemetery are Melissa and George!!

To be honest it's been so long ago that the answer to your question is "I don't know' I look to see if she was on here twice and she isn't so I'm not sure which cemetery in Whiting, Iowa she should be in. It does look like I'm wrong cause it doesn't make sense she would be buried in Nebraska. But like I said it's been a while ago that I posted this. If you know for sure that she was buried in Whiting, Iowa let me know and I will change it.

Bates family
Unfortunately I have not spent any time researching Hinsdale Bates's other children. After your request for information I have spend some time poking around but I have not been able to connect any daughters to Hinsdale. The connections to Hinsdale's memorial have been made by the researchers who manage the connected memorials.

Yes, I Googled also and that is where I found their gravestone pictures. Thing is, Find-A-Grave does not have North Bethlehem Cemetery. If it was listed I would put them there. Why is this cemetery not listed? Yes, I have Helen's parents linked to her already. Do you know where North Bethlehem Cemetery is? If not by that name anymore, what is the current name?

I don't have a glue. I'm not from South Dakota. I only took what was in the obit. I did find the Johnson's gravestone on another website, but they have copy rights and It's still not clear where this cemetery is, or what the name is. It's listed as being in Yankton County. If you know any information please do let me know. Thanks.

Thank you so much for the information that you sent (obituary). I was over zealous and added some of the information in the newspaper article before I looked at the edits. So some of the edits I had already added. Sorry!

So tragic and yet so very interesting to any ancestors who might find the memorial and the information!

Thank you, again, for the information!

Best wishes,
High Plains :)

Rice Family Information
Are you related to Mary Shannon, the 2nd wife of Norman Rice? Norman was a brother to my Great Grandfather, Dexter. Do you have any information on this Rice Family? David Rice was the Father of Norman and Dexter. We are searching for the name of David's Father.

Thanks, Adele Rice Spidahl

Truthfully I'm not sure which spelling is correct - I just happened to notice the dups and that the other memorial does have a note on the 2 spellings. I don't know if that contributor may have more information or not. Maybe putting in a photo request would answer the spelling question - as there are some volunteers doing photos in that cemetery I believe. Good luck!

Melissa Shannon Brennan

My name is Jennifer. Melissa's brother George Shannon was married to a distant cousin of mine; Kate Ann Richardson. I also, found a Melissa Shannon married to Kate's brother; Frank Wallace Richardson in Charles City, Floyd County in 1882. They would've divorced around 1883/1884. I was just wondering if this Melissa could possibly be it. Do you know anything about a marriage previous to Mr. Brennan in 1895?

Titus Cemetery
I've been to that cemetery, its in my cousin's back yard...nothing there but briars, brambles, and a few broken stones. I've heard that there is a listing somewhere of who all was buried there, but have not seen it. Can you give me a hint as to where I might get a look at it?

Oscar was his guardian, and raised him so he was like a father to him. Harry, the second one I asked you to link him to was his biological father. In a sense, he did have two fathers. Please connect him to both.

RE: Rickers memorial
Hi Jeanette,

Thank you for your nice email. I sincerely appreciate all your good efforts on my family's behalf and for contributing to the establishment of my grandparents' memorial. I would be honored to take responsibility for their memorial, although I don't in any way want to step on anyone's toes or take away from what other members of my family have contributed to it. My mom (Doris Jean (Rickers) Roberts) passed away in December 2010 and I brought her back to Iowa for burial next to her parents (my grandparents) which is what she'd always wanted. The funeral was in Westside. Last night, I was adding a memorial for her to the site when I came across the memorials for my grandparents so I decided to sponsor all three of them. I live in Los Angeles, but recently retired from UCLA, so I will have time now to do things that I haven't been able to do in the past. I did a lot of geneology & research on my family history in the 1990s and I'm thinking it would be nice to write bios for my grandparents to honor their lives. Thank you again for everything! It's very much appreciated.

Best, Sheila
