Ned
RE: Charles James Gibson - Aurora, IL
Hi Lisa,
Great work finding this tombstone fragment ! !

Thanks for adding this memorial. I am curious if you based the bio on my recent communications with Elaine Lindoo, or on the paper I wrote in 1984 entitled "Alexander C. Gibson and His Descendants".

I would not be surprised if the tombstones of Charles's parents are concealed nearby. Ditto that of his brother David Gibson, if that is not already visible.

In any event, I wish to point out that even though some later genealogists have spelled the original family name as "Cruickshank", all contemporary primary sources spell it as "Crookshank". For that reason, I prefer the latter spelling.

Best Regards,
Ned

Hi Lisa, I got your edit, is it o.k. if I just copy and paste the info, or would you like to manage the memorial and add how you want? Luella

Margaret Even Watgen
Hi Lisa,

Thank you so much for listing the many family members in the Aurora cemeteries. Just wanted to let you know that the death year for Margaret Even Watgen should be 1940, not 1914.

RE: Welch family at West Aurora
Hi Lisa,

I have only a limited amount of information on Henry Welch, Jr. My source shows him as born 22 Nov 1822 at Antwerp, Jefferson, New York, son of Henry Welch, Sr. and Ruth Conklin.

He married Ada Eliza Williams 25 July 1861 at Kane County, Illinois.

That's it for now!

Penny Harris
Louis Gyovai
Son of Steve & Ethel Papai Gyovai. I wasn't sure whether to request a photo of his gravestone or not, because I'm not sure whether you found a grave for this child there, or added him because of info in another record elsewhere.
I have linked a Louis Gyovai to them who died in 2007 in WV. His marriage record indicates Ethyl & Steve Gyovai were his parents, but he was born a year before the Louis you have listed. It also lists him as born in Ramsey, MI. Seems odd to name a child after one you already have that is living, so I thought I'd mention it to you.
Seems Louis carried on the coal-mining tradition in his family. I believe his son is a coal miner in WV also.

Thanks so much, Lisa! I will certainly keep the info you've put up, may have some connections to add, but I'm so delighted you've gone to all this work on those people!

I went ahead and transferred to you as I have no ties what so ever to this family. I just wander the cemetery and make memorials hoping to match people with those who care.

Hi Lisa,

Marion H. Hayward Manella 54374750 was my great aunt. If you could kindly link her parents, Miner Warner Hayward 59283523 and Lucy Susan Wooster Hayward 59283619, I'd really appreciate it. And if you'd care to transfer her to my account that would be great too, as I'm getting back into working on my family history after a break of about 25 years.

Thanks, Randy Hayward
