|Maureen (Dacus) Blackburn||RE: Jacob Duckworth|
Yes there were 3 Jacob Duckworths. I do not see a FindaGrave memorial for the one you listed tho and he would be the one married to Elizabeth Moon Dacus. The person that made the note on the Capt. Jacob Duckworth memorial is correct that the picture and the bio - Familly link section do not match up. There should be the 1st Jacob (which is the Capt. I guess/I did not have his info) married Charity, their son Jacob Duckworth married Anna Welborn, and their son Jacob Duckworth married Elizabeth Moon Dacus who was born 11/28/1827. My info said that the Jacob Duckworth that married Elizabeth Moon Dacus was a brother of Hestor (Duckworth) Rogers also - so I just don't find his memorial nor is he listed as Annie Welborn Duckworth's child on her memorial.
I will leave it at that - I just wanted to share the info I had to see if it would help them straighten out the Jacob Duckworths. Thanks so much for researching.

|Maureen (Dacus) Blackburn||Capt. Jacob Duckworth FAG#28206575|
I noticed the controversy about this Memorial and wanted to share notes that I have (I am looking up my Dacus ancestors). Notes received from Avery Dacus years ago: Elizabeth Moon Dacus, born Nov.28, 1827 married Jacob Duckworth, son of Anna Welborn and Jacob Duckworth.
Does this help place the correct one - Should this Capt. Jacob Duckworth also have a son by the same name on his Children List?

I see you have posted a picture to this memorial in Laurens County, SC of a headstone that looks nothing like the stone that is there. Where did you get this picture and where is the stone? I took the picture of the older stone and know it is in that cemetery, but I question the other stone very much. I always want everything on one of my memorials to be correct. That is why I am questioning your picture. Thanks for your help.

My husband's grandfather was Patrick Henry Hobson, and when he died, I got access to the scanned photos from his famous red white and blue albums. I sownloaded them from a cloud site. There are quite a few Clarke pictures. I have dropbox, so maybe I could upload them and have you access the site. Have you done that before? You can e-mail me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org

|Mandy Blackman||Clark/Clarke family|
I am looking for a grave for Sallie Eveleen Gable Clark(e) wife of Franklin Jacob Clark(e) - his dates are 2/1879 and died 11/17/1930 - he is buried at Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson SC, originally from Lexington SC. I saw that you had posted some tombstone pictures from this cemetery and was wondering if you could help me. All I know about Sallie is that she was born July 1880 per the 1900 census. I found the death certificate and obituary for Franklin Jacob Clark(e) but haven't been able to find anything to give me a death date for Sallie. Was hoping you might have a list or could check if you go back to this cemetery - thanks in advance for any help you can give me

|elsie fields||Archibald Sloan again|
Ann: Forget first message...went this p.m. again to Cannon's Creek and...you are absolutely resolved of a mysterious event: there are the two markers, Archibald and Fanny just as you have pictured. For 40 years I have stared at the fieldstones when 20 yards away were the REAL ones. My humble-pie apologies. elsie caldwell fields

|elsie fields||Sloan headstone|
Ann: Where on earth did you find a photo of Archibald Sloan's headstone? I've been going to Cannon's Creek cemetery for 40 years and never saw anything other than a fieldstone crudely scratched. His wife,Fanny's, likewise. These markers are now gone. Archibald and Frances Drennan Sloan are my grandparents of that era. By the way, the correct name for Cannon's Creek is NOT 'Mission church'. Cannon's Creek was the Mother church of another Cannon's Creek ARP church on US76 between Prosperity and Newberry town. It is still active and it too has a small cemetery, and it would be a favor to other historians if you would set the matter straight. Thank you kindly for putting the photo on. What a joy! elsie caldwell fields

|Andrew Staton||RE: Photo request|
You're welcome! He was right on the road, but I can understand why you couldn't find him. His large flat stone was covered with about an inch or so of dirt, vines, plants, etc. His wife too. The only reason I thought to clear it and check was because of his infant sons grave nearby, which said "Son of Homer S. Blackwell". - AMS
