RE: Uriah Chapman FAG # 44004053
Hi Charlott
Many people back in those days gave the information, handed down to them, sad but sometimes it was wrong (like people who were told they are related to "Johnny Appleseed" who never had children, never married!)

Philip Chapman Ellsworth spent many years researching his Chapman line. You can find it here: Philip Chapman Ellsworth, "Life Sketch of Moses and Uriah Chapman", August 1994; The Connecticut Nutmegger, Vol 28 #1, June 1995; pp 2-24
Here is another researcher of this Chapman line....

Note: Elgin, Or., USA, 97827, redwing_e@msn.com. Research on this family spanned over 50 years. Work, time and money has been spent on these families.Sources include bible records, birth, marriage, death, obituaries, news paper clippings, census, and County and Town Histories, Civil War records, Pension papers, Revolutionary War Records and Wills,Probate and Court Records. A lot of people have taken our hard work and used it as their own, with out giving any credit to the owner of this gedcom.

Charlott: Art Hawthorne is responsible for both of the memorials on the above person. I cannot remove a duplicate that is not mine. I did correct the spelling (you could have done that).

Hi, Charlott,

I hope you are doing well.

I apologize for taking so long to deal with your edits - I've been without internet service.

I'm about to accept the edits, but I wanted to be sure I still had your contact info. Are you related? I am not, and would be happy to see this family with someone who knows them. If you would like a transfer, just let me know.

Thanks for the edits!

Take care.

Kathy

Thomas Cantrall
Charlott, I am doing research on my Wife's family (Canterbury) and the Canterbury Cemetery. I came across a Thomas Cantrall in the Brittin Cemetery that looks a lot like the Thomas Cantrall in the Canterbury Cemetery (# 26963474). Just thought you might be interested.

Elizabeth Gayetty Wells
Hi. I'm trying to find information on Julia Ann Gayetty who was Elizabeth's sister. Julia was my 3rd Great-grandmother. I can't find any records of her birth or death, although I did find her marriage record to John Parker in 1853. You mentioned in the record of Elizabeth that her parents were Charles W. and Sarah. Do you know anything more about them? HELP!
Thanks so much.

Charlott,
Please remember, I am willing to transfer your family members to you just as long as they are not related to me. Feel free to put in requests using the edit tab. Sometimes, I am slow getting to my email, but I will get to them.

The cemetery has a vital history. Take a look at the cemetery descriptions. Do you know if anyone has a list of the military veterans that were at the battlefields that could shed some names to fill in this cemetery? Ken Burns PBS Doc just rerun the doc after 25 years on the Civil War. Thoughts? Thank you

RE: John "Jack" Closser, FAG #65589898
According to the obituary for John "Jack" Closser, his parents were William and Margaret (Brown) Closser....he had two sisters - Carrie and Hattie, and a brother - Elvie Ashby.

I did a search on Ancestry.com and did find a John A. Closser born in 1861 on the 1880 census with his parents - John and Alzina Closser.

Because of the obituary for John Jack Closser, I'm going to leave his memorial with his parents as listed.

Appreciate you letting me be aware of this though.
Thank you!

RE: John Wesley Kent
Not much... He was a farmer and school teacher before the war. Don't have much more then that...

I'm sure you are a relative, but I'm having a hard time figuring out where you connect up on the tree... My grandmother's first husband was Oseola Jones. Are you connected on that branch of Jones family?

John Wesley Kent was my great grandfather... My mother Kathleen (Payne) Colvin, her mother Ruby (Kent) Jones Payne - her father William Lee Kent - his father John Wesley Kent...
