Are you related to John Wohler or his wife Mary whose maiden name is Behrens? If not, would you please transfer his Illinois Menard County Sugargrove Cemetery memorial #30687695 and their daughter Maggie #30687685 to me? I am married to a Behrens nephew of Mary, and I and one of my husband's sisters have done a great deal of genealogy which we have on If you won't transfer the memorial to me, I will send all of the information we have to you and ask that you add it to their memorials. Thank you for your time and consideration. Deborah Kline Behrens, FindAGrave Contributor #47203244

Hi Lesa,

May I have your permission to use the headstone photo you posted for Florence Behrends and Walter Behrends in my family tree? They are distant relatives on my father's side.

Jeremiah King
Hi, My name is John H. Jones and I live in Springfield, IL. I nearly fell off my chair this evening at Barnes & Noble as I was leafing through a new book, Springfield Memories, and came across a picture of the Jedd King House. My wife and I have owned this house for several years and had pretty much given up on finding any early photos. I hope I have located the right Lesa King Bergeron and if so, wondered if you had any more photos of the house, or anything, really. We researched the house several years ago and, of course, came across the name Jeremiah King (I have his obituary somewhere in my "stuff.") It appears the house was moved around 1910 or so and now faces North on Monroe St. The house has been in a constant state of "mess" for several years as we are restoring it. Over the years it has been a boarding house, a rental, a Jewel Tea Co. business (!) and has had periods of neglect. In fact, under several layers of shingles and tar paper, the original wood shingles still sat atop the house. It looks as though it was built ca. 1867 and does appear on the 1873 Birdseye
map of Springfield. I am so happy you submitted the photograph and would love anything information you might have. I'm sure you have Mr. King's obit, but if not, I will gladly give you a copy. My e-mail is: Thanks, John
