|Carln88||Robert Vars photo request|
I think this memorial was mislabeled. Maplewood cemetery says no Robert Vars is in their database. When I took photos of Grace Vars stone, Sidney G Vars Jr has all the same birth and date of death info.

All buried in plot: West 34. I found that info helpful & interesting for your research. I've added a plot photo to Luhrs & Bertha.

I just wanted to tell you that I was reviewing the volunteer photos I've taken and I noticed this memorial is logged at Amelia Methodist Church Cemetery. I did not take this photo at that cemetery - I took it at Odd Fellows Cemetery of Amelia, Ohio. When I discovered this, I took a trip to Amelia Methodist Cemetery and after combing through the headstones, I did not find Isaac Short there. So there could be a few things happening here - 1.) He is logged at the wrong cemetery or 2.) I took a picture of a headstone that doesn't belong to the correct Isaac Short. I thought you should know that these two cemeteries are all of 2 miles from each other, so it is possible he needs a cemetery change - or I need to remove the picture. I'm not sure if I should be telling you this (since you requested the photo) or if I should tell the person that created the memorial. Either way, I wasn't sure how much research you had on this individual and I wasn't sure if this tidbit of info would help? Basically - I just want to let you know what I know so it can help you know whatever you want to know. Make sense? (haha) I'm sorry if I've caused any confusion posting to a memorial that wasn't even the cemetery I was at that day. If I can help in anyway further, I'll be happy to... just let me know :)

Certainly you may use the photos on your tree. I'm planning trips to a few of the other cemeteries I see you have requests in. If I find them I'll take a photo.

Of course you may use the photo for ancestry.com. I was glad to take the photo for you! I just realized his GAR star is turned around. If you'd like, I would be happy to go back to the stone and take a picture of the star facing right side out. And, of course I give you permission to use that picture as well if you wanted it.

You have my permission to use my gravestone photograph for your personal use, including posting on Ancestry.com as long as you do not change the digital file in any way. In particular the file properties in which I have recorded data about the gravestone, cemetery and myself (latter as 'author').

|Dee Green||Your Father-in-Law's Headstone Photo|
I've added photos of the front and back of Bill's headstone. The section he is in has a bit of an orientation issue (sun behind most of the day). If you would like a retake on the front, I'll be happy to go out and try again later in the day. Sometimes those work and sometimes they are washed out because the sun is too bright on the front.
But, please, do not hesitate to ask for a retake. I'm over there often and it's not a problem!!

You're welcome. I'm sure you won't have any problem. One of the people I asked even thanked me for asking and giving him credit. He said most people just use the photos without permission or credit. I'm not advocating that, but I doubt you would be caught if you did use the photo.

The above site had the headstone of E.A.Sanford. The quality of the stone is very poor. I will let you decide if you wish to post it on the website.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Joe. It could be that the sod will be down before my two week window is up. I'll keep my eye on it and either get it taken or report it as problem with your request to wait for the sod.

|Dee Green||Bill Pitt Photo Request|
I went over to the cemetery this morning and Bill's headstone is in but they haven't installed the sod around it. They put down a topsoil/mulch layer just before they install it and that's not down yet, either. So...two choices: 1) I can take the photo now and then replace it with an updated picture later or 2) I can just report it as a problem and leave the request open. I'll just make it clear that you want to wait for sod installation.
The cemetery is only about four miles away so it's not a problem to go back (and I have other memorials I'm always working on that need photos). And there's never a shortage of photo volunteers for this location.
Please let me know your preference.
