Sharon Underwood & George Grasser
Hi, Did you know Geoge Grasser? I just added Sharon Grasser Underwood, Find A Grave Memorial# 143230781, and her obit says George is her brother, but in reading it, they both have different parents. So apparently one of the obits is wrong, but I don't know which one. thanks.........
.George Grasser was my stepfather,
and Sharon Grasser Underwood was his sister. I double checked with family, and the obit. for George is correct. They both had the same father,
whose name was George Nicholas Grasser, but was
always called Nick or Nicholas. I believe that maybe whoever provided the info for Sharon, did not realize that her father's FIRST name was George. Memorial # 143230781 - Sharon Underwood
Memorial # 55647748 - George Henry Grasser

RE: Andrus Nohlquist
I added the photo of the stone that has both names of him and his wife. At the bottom it does say "NOHLQUIST", but it is very hard to read if you don't know the name you are looking for.

Hi Carol,
I have added Harley as his nickname as Harlet was on the gravestone. I also added a page for his wife.

RE: Harlet T Sawyer, Rose Hill Cemetery
just these:
Harley Sawyer, for 51 years a resident of this vicinity died Monday, April 14, from ills incidental to old age. He was born in Berkshire, Vermont, July 5, 1833, consequently was nearly 84 years of age. He enlisted in the 1st Vermont cavalry in 1861 at the outbreak of the Civil war and received an honorable discharge after 18 months service. In November 1867 he married Miss Laura Bond of Marvin Creek and made his home in the Marvin Valley until about ten years ago. Four children were born to them. Shiel B. Sawyer of DuBois, Mrs. Grace Buton of DuBois, Mrs. Mary McVane of Kane and Mrs. Emma Stark of Spokane, Wash. A brother, Carlisle Sawyer of Smethport and a sister Mrs. W.H. Rifle of Kane also, survive.
Mr. Sawyer was genial companionable, who was popular with many friends until advancing years caused him to give up most of life’s activities. He was a member of Post 347, G.A.R. and of McKean Lodge F. & A.M., the latter organization attending the funeral in a body; most of his comrades from the Post were also present. Rev. W.E. VanDyke conducted the funeral services last Thursday afternoon, and the remains were laid at rest in Rose Hill cemetery.
Relatives present from out of town were Shiel B. Sawyer of DuBois, Mr. and Mrs. ___ McVane, Mrs. Candace McCoy and Emery Allard of Kane.
from: McKean Miner April 24, 1919
Mrs. Harley T. Sawyer, aged 52 years and 5 months, was found dead in her bed at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rex Stark on King street at about 3 o'clock Tuesday morning, by Mrs. Stark who went into the room to get one of the children who had been sleeping with her. Mrs. Sawyer retired about 10 o'clock in fairly good health. She had been sick this winter and bothered some with heart trouble but on Monday she felt very well and was in good spirits when she retired. Her four year old grandson, Daniel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McVenn, was sleeping with her and so quiet was her passage from this earth to that more beautiful one beyond that he knew nothing of it until Mrs. Stark came into the room and found that her mother had quietly and peacefully passed away while. The funeral services will be held at St. Luke's church this Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, Rev. W.E. Van Dyke officiating, and her remains will be held at rest in Rose Hill cemetery.
-from: McKean Miner March 1910
Also: 'Sawyer Fams of New England Vol I' listed him as "Harlow" [as he was in the 1860 cen]; In Vol II, he was "Harley".

Not a problem, I had put in so many duplicates myself that I am frustrated and do not know how I did that, I check but guess I was tired or had been working on entering too long.

What is nice they have 2 computers where you can put in a name and it tells you the Panel and Row.

Middle East Memorial Wall.
The memorial has the Panel and Row on it. Blow it up and count down 33 rows, I believe, over about 2/3 and there is your person.

RE: James Chiazzese
I contacted Dolores and here is her response:

There are several Chiazzese in this cemetery and the data is from town burial records, Niagara falls is not far, and if an early one died in Chautauqua Co they usually have a burial plot

That's the best I can tell you but the town records are pretty thorough

I believe the two memorials are in fact the same person. That is why I would like a photograph to confirm it. His daughters, Della and Josephine, sold their family home in 2011. I don't know where they went.

Name: Della M Chiazzese
Birth Date: 25 Jan 1916
Address: 1717 Ferry Ave, Niagara Falls, NY, 14301-2227 (1995)

Name: Josephine Chiazzese
Residence: 1960 - Niagara Falls, New York, USA

Saw your message about the ability of others to make changes to your posting. I'd agree that others shouldn't automatically be able to make changes. Also, have noticed that the woman's middle initial is usually for her Maiden, rather than middle name.

I'm writing about Sarah Scowden Minnis, daughter of Theodorus. You have birth and death dates for Sarah, and I was wondering if you would share the source with me. Sarah is part of my Minnis family tree, and I've done quite a bit of searching without luck. I'm hoping you have the family Bible??!!!

YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!!! I thought I was the only one who was working on that premise. I do work for historical society and so run into alot of graves what have EXACTLY that-the initial is for the MAIDEN name. Seems we have too many busybodies who have nothing better to do than harass those of us who really take a genuine interest on what we post..should I list names of the bb's?
Keep up the good work!

Burdell Goodman @ Grandview
According to our records, he is interred in one of the community crypts in the lower level of the west mausoleum. I've cross-checked the dates and added them to his page, which appear to match yours, however, he also shows in the Rootsweb California Death Index as having died in Los Angeles County.

I'll be gone all day today, but will check further when I get back to the computer tonight....
