Bill Monroe Snyder
My husband & I would like Bill's memorial transferred over to us, we have a week long project this week of updating family memorials. Bill Monroe Snyder is my husband's father, we will work on it together since I have done many of them, mostly my own family. Now it is time to concentrate on his family. We will handle this one with great respect, he was dearly loved by our family & is still missed. Kayla & Syd Snyder my memorial # is 47368227.

Kelly Grayson
Hi DD,

Email sent to Pat Faulkner requesting permission to copy Lucy G. Thompson and other Brown Family members cemetery photos at the Lindley Prairie Cemetery in Cedar County, Missouri. As you are managing this memorial, did Pat sign rights over to you? I see you have graciously given reproduction permission with a credit. I am more than happy to honor that.

I see you are related to Margaret Small. I am researching her G Grandparents descendants and family, Charles Porter Lively and Nancy Lucinda Duncan. Care to collaborate? I am working in wikitree and Facebook to share old photographs with the Lively family.

Christ Pepperling
Hello D.D., yes I know about the new headstone for my great grandfather Christopher Pepperling. I ordered the stone a few years ago from the V.A. and my cousin Steve Leffler and his father put the stone in the cemetery for me. The old stone is now on the Leffler farm. Thank you for writing.

Can always ck w/office for a marker, if so & would like, I can take a trip to St Boniface for marker..

RE: Wow, thank you
You are welcome, the shade/sun made them a little hard to photo but the huge trees are beautiful. I should have taken a picture of them too. When I go out again I'll take a setting shot if you like. You are my first volunteer photo op so thanks for the opportunity.

Thanks so much for checking this. I'm just writing the report on his DAR marker--or lack of--today so our records will be up-to-date.

Thank You!
I knew of the other DAR plaques, but we just looked for the two here in our area that were placed by a Portland chapter--doubtful they would come back and look. The DAR chapter in Salem is huge--we didn't get into their territory! The one person who looked at Twin Oaks said it was flooded when she went in March, but she didn't see any marker. Reuben's stone didn't lend itself to fastening it to the stone itself, and those put in the ground usually walked away I'm afraid. I have to file the two reports 1 May but could correct his later if needed. Thanks so much!

Thank you for your pictures and transcriptions of rural Marion County cemeteries! Oregon DAR is updating their index of sites and gravestones where DAR markers have been placed over the years, and our Stayton chapter checked these two out to update the index. Reuben Lewis, in Twin Oaks, Turner, had one placed in 1930. You made no mention of this bronze plaque when you made his memorial in 2009--I take it nothing was found nearby? You also posted photos of our other recipient, Allen Davies, #2919875, in Aumsville Cemetery--you took the pictures and the plaque was prominent on his stone. Using the permission you granted on Find A Grave, I used these gravestone pictures, giving full credit to you as requested. Thank you for helping memorialize two early Marion County settlers who were very important to forming Oregon as a state.
