Freda Howard

Hi,
As Richard is my direct ancestor, I would very much like to have a copy of his will(--especially the signature).
Would it be possible to make a scan, and send to this e-mail address?

Thanking you ahead of time.

Martha Lucas Merrill
The information you have on Martha Lucas Merrill is different than what I have. I see there are two Martha Merrill's in North Beeman Cemetery. Can you help me with the info on her birth which you have as Colrain,Hampshire, MA instead of Vermont. She was my 5th GGM and I need all the info you can help me with. I appreciate you help. I don't have parents for her, either.

Thanks
Danny Doty

Fanny Foss
I am almost speechless I am so excited to get the information you sent. Fanny was my 3rd great grandmother and I could not figure out her maiden name or her history before she married Nathaniel. You have solved a mystery for me and I so appreciate you passing the information on to me. Bless you!

Capt. John Weeks
Hi Douglas! I am descended from patriot John Weeks (m. Thankful Slade)through the daughter of his son John Weeks (d. 1810), Aurelia Weeks Smith (who was born after her father's death). I have long suspected that John and his twin sons, Jedediah and Philo were buried in the Webster Cemetery and was excited to see your recent posts and information on my Weeks family. Would you be willing to share where you got the information? Some of what you posted is new to me, such as the "Capt." part of John Weeks. Thank you kindly. -- dls

Valentine Goodrich
I checked this out a little further and the Valentine who married Ann Robinson was the son of Valentine who married Sally Emery Goodrich Ayer. It was Sally's husband who died at Lundy's Lane as proven by the copy of her pension from him recorded in the National Archives. That will take you one generation further back.

Looking more at the Robinson might bring you even further back- the daughter of William Swan and Mary Russell, Mary Swan married William Robinson. She is my 4th gr Aunt. Her sister, Jane, married Richardson Emery and is the mother of Sally Emery Goodrich Ayer. Look at my "Mom's Ancestral Line" on ancestry.com. My grandmother was Nina Emery Tamer. She was the daughter of William Emery and Jennette Cline. William's parents are Enoch Emery and Alzina Canfield. Enoch is the son of Russell Emery and Polly Emery, who were 1st cousins. Russell is also the son of Richardson and Jane and Sally's brother.

Swan-Robinson
Mary Swan, sister of Jane Swan Emery married William Robinson. All these names being repeated make for a lot of confusion.
Jane Swan Emery was the mother of Sarah/Sally Emery Goodrich Ayer.
This can also be verified in History of Clinton and Franklin Counties by Duane Hamilton Hurd.

RE: Valentine Goodrich
I think from what I worked on the Valentine who married Ann Wetmore was the son of Valentine who died at Lundy's Lane and was married to Sally Emery Ayer. It was Sally who filed for the pension. You will see all this on the ancestry chart I sent you. The pension application can be found at the National Archives and the cover sheet is attached.

George is buried in the Lakewood Cemetery in Mpls. Sec. 18 , lot 60 grave 6. He divorced Caroline sometime before 1900 I think as his 1900 census shows divorced. I think he married her at her parents home in 1882, She remarried a (Ellis? not sure of this first name but shows up on a family tree on ancestry, but he seemed to go by just
Romaine Pierson in 09-11-1918 and was residing in New York with him for a long time. He died in 1932 and I think probably in NY. She lived there for some time after his death as near as I can figure. As she came from a prominent family and he seemed to have an important position, she might be buried in her parents family plot or his family's. To my knowledge she is not by George, but you can check that out. There is a lot out there on the Robinson home, family, etc.

For many years, the Emery family of Richardson whose wife was Jane Swan has said that Valentine married his daughter, Sarah aka Sally Emery. After his death,at Lundy's Lane, she married Uriah Ayer and they lived in Schuyler Falls, Ny.

Now, the story also includes the fact that Sally's mother was Jane Swan whose sister married a Robinson. They were from New Hampshire- so was Richardson and died in West Peru, NY now called Schuyler Falls. Check out my Emery family on Mom's Ancestral Lines (NancyFayette12).

I am sorry that I can't tell you if Caroline Robinson is buried by George. I rather doubt it as he remarried to Ruth Rosser Brown in 1913 and later adopted her two boys, one of which is my father. Interesting...uh? If you find anything else let me know and I so appreciate that someone took a picture of the headstone for him.. Elizabeth Chesebrough

Mr. Robinson, I would like to thank you for such a nice page you have made for my 3rd great grandfather. If it hadn't been for you I would had never found his grave. I'm not going to ask you turn the page over to me because all the hard work you have done with it but if there is ever a time you would like for someone to take it off your hands I would be more then happy to. I'm hoping some day to get to go see his grave and plant some flowers on it. You wouldn't happen to know how it came about for him to be where his grave is would you?

Douglas

Thanks for the response. I would be interested in the Olmsted book and to do more research on the line Babcock/Capron lines. I am a DAR member and there is some conflicting information on Electa and Amanda's parentage in their records and I am trying to gather well documented proof to help resolve it.

John - Electa Capron
Douglas,

I see you added some information on Electa (Babcock) Capron's memorial recently and I wanted to find out if you have any documentation that they were actually married in 1818. I descend from Electa's sister Amanda who was also married to John Capron before she died shortly after childbirth in 1822. Amanda is buried in Swanton, VT at Church Street Cemetery. I would like to correspond further with you on the Capron/Babcocks. You may email me at vierson@gmail.com or Lvierson@aol.com

Thanks
Lydia Vierson

Research
Douglas

My name is Robert Sloan and I recently retired from the position of President of Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC. Currently I am researching the history of Sibley which began with Jane Bancroft who married your relative George O Robinson on May 7, 1891. Together they were substantial supporters of Sibley and other Methodist institutions. There was a Robinson Hall at the old Sibley on North Capital St.

Do you have any knowledge of Jane Bancroft Robinson? I am looking for letters, correspondence, pictures, newspaper articles and anything else that might be of interest between Jane Bancroft and George O. Robinson and the Methodist denomination and/or Sibley Hospital. Thank you for any information that you can provide. My e-mail address is RSloan4@jhmi.edu.

Thank you for your work on the Heaths!
I just dropped in for a minute and thought I'd say THANK YOU for reaching out to me via email with information about the Heaths, and for documenting your research here and elsewhere publicly. I also appreciate you connecting me with distant cousins, which has helped a lot at filling in holes in our research!
