An Etheridge Son
I was just sent a copy of a death certificate for John Etheridge, son of Joel and Emily Rice (this is stated on the certificate). So I created a memorial for him in the Underwood Cemetery (aka Bethel Cemetery), Rockdale County, GA. So another son is found. Strangely enough, I lived for over 18 years on the West end of Bethel Road, Rockdale County and never knew I had relatives at Bethel Christian Church. Small world.

RE: Two Emily's
Thanks, Joy. It was very confusing at first, but with the help of another Rice family member, I believe we all have the issue resolved. Emily Rice is a sister to my g, g grandmother, Mary Rice. So that's how I became involved. I have enjoyed this journey of searching for my ancestors and have met the most amazing folks like you. Thanks so much for your help. Yesterday, I found two of Emily's brothers and am looking for Margaret Rice who married Charles Etheridge, Joel's brother. And in this process of searching I found yet another CSA soldier that I am related to - now that makes 40!! Take care and thanks for all you do on Find A Grave. Joyce

Kennedy/ Etheridge
Aren't you somehow related to the Kennedy's and Etheridges at Midway and Old Midway? There has been an issue come up w/ Old Midway and we are trying to reach out to as many family members as possible. Please let me know if you are.

RE: Martin VanBuren Bagwell
Thanks Joy I am not related just researching the men of 16th Georgia Vol Infantry and trying to document their story. Whether you agree with the cause or not, you have to applaud their courage and commitment. They were certainly a brave bunch of men! The places where the 16th Regiment fought seem to be all the worst. My husband and I went last April and followed their path - partially at least - Cramptons Gap where 500 Confederates (including the 16th Georgia) tried to defend against the approach of 13,000 union soldiers; the Bloody Lane at Antietam; the Sunken Road at Fredericksburg; the Wheatfield and the Peach Orchard at Gettysburg; Fort Sanders at Knoxville; the Wilderness and Spotsylvania....Its amazing that any of them returned home. Private Bagwell was orphaned, moved off to Georgia, joined up ...and lived to tell the tale. Hats off to him!

RE: Lamar Hudson
Thanks for the information. I'm trying to document the Hillcrest Cemetery by taking photos. Doing the same thing as you are. Good hunting.

Lamar Hudson
You have sent a request to connect Lamar to his parents. I have a question. There is a Peter R. Hudson buried next to Lamar and his wife. Do you know if that is their son? Also I am not related at all, if you are and would like a transfer please let me know and I will be happy to do so.

RE: Anna Brown
Joy, I didn't find the Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery listed and it is the large "city" cemetery here with a lot of old graves. I probably didn't look hard enough. There were 3 or 4 people listed in our family grave yard that were in the "wrong" place. I've sent corrections on those also.

RE: Jones Family
ok. none of those names sound familiar. I was asking because I saw posted a photo of ms. Etta Mae Jones. I have an original of that photo and on the back it says Grandma Jones. My Family has not be able to identify who this was. I have photos back to the late 1800s and we are not able to see in what way she fits in.

RE: Minnie Wallace
Thank you.
And it is folks like you that have made my day worthwhile. It was a hard time for us when I started this. Our son was in Irag with two little ones here and I took them to day care and waited for them. I started the photo requests and meandering around Gwinnett and Barrow Counties at that time.
So, Happy Researching, and enjoy it. Bud

Harrison Richard Hannah - ID# 15676083
Joy, I am helping a long time friend do her genealogy and one of her direct lines is Hannah. Are you kin to these folks? If so, then you are kin to her. I spent a few hours at her house last night, setting up her tree and adding names for her. I noticed that you took over the above page from Bud (another of my helpers), so didn't know if you were kin or not. Let me know, ok?

RE: Martha Yancy
William R Hunt b. 1850 is the direct line to Uncle Mack (uncle by marriage).

Robert Hunt is Wm R's younger brother.

I am out there on a far branch of the Hunt line from me and my Aunt Nellie Thompson Hunt. Only Aunt Nellie's 78-year-old daughter-in-law is living...she does well when I give her clues, but has blanks when asked direct questions about the Hunt line.

Robert and Wm R both buried in Chestnut Grove Cemtery.

Robert married Savangie Yancey. Her memorial states that her parents were Emily and Jake Yancey. Jake, of course, could be James or John.
