Reeds and Livingstons
I am related to both in Orangeburg County. Also, I am near the burial place of Archibald M Douglas and others in Darlington County.

RE: Lounette
Great! I am glad to know how to work that. It is a bit different than managing a family tree on, which I just started today. I don't know just how we are connected, but I am glad to find more family!

John Robinson Leysath
I read this memorial with interest because an online friend and I are looking for James M Leysath (son of James Leysath and Ann Golson). It is pretty clear that he settled in Butler County Alabama but we haven't found proof of a marriage or a list of children.

Mary Robinson is likely the daughter of James and Ann Leysath that placed the marker on her parents graves in Orangeburg. She would be a sister to my GG Grandmother.

Any knowledge of a will that might have named him (possibly a will of Mary U Leysath Robinson) or her husband.

I see from your website (which is great) that you are interested in the Reed family. So this is probably just a spouse of a relative but I wondered if you had any information about who his parents and siblings might be.

By the way on his wife, I believe she is listed as born in Orangeburg on the memorial but the obit suggests she was born in Augusta.

Olivia Odom Jones
James Cheek was used as a reference to where Olivia and JU Jones where buried. It says that Uncle Clarence took a picture of the headstones however none were provided in the book, but that the headstones were in very bad shape. Uncle Clarence does not referenced how James Cheek was related but Johnnie and Ellen Jones daughter Maggie Jones married Lacy Leonard Cheek June 18, 1927. The only documentation provided in the book are the newspaper articles from HW Jones death and JU Jones death and 1860 and 1900 census information. I received a letter from Uncle Clarence, I had requested information on how I could obtain documentation on the internet since I live in California, he said that he did not have an answer for S.C. for places that you can write for information, he went in person to get the information. Uncle Clarence 128491060 unfortunately passed away in 1997.

Olivia Odom Jones
The family tree was researched by Uncle Clarence Bowers, son of Dorothy Jones Bowers. He sent me
" The Joneses - Our Family tree dated October 8, 1994." I don't know where Uncle Clarence received the information from. It is not noted in his book. It says that Olivia was from his first wife but he does not reference either wives names.

Remember me
Theola Compton
Yep, found parents obit and a brothers obit that indicates she was living in Phoenix, AZ. Proof enough for me. I've linked mine to the death location for others that might spot it. Thanks

find a grave
Marilyn, yes I am sure this is the same because Theola was related to my mother and Marvin was Taheola's 1st husband he died in 1970, later she
remarried and moved to Arizona and when she died
she was buried out there rather than bring her home. Also I do know something about some Jones, Holloman and Andersons in Florence county. Let me know what Hollomans, Andersons. Thanks for contacting me Sondra

Now you have my attention, do you have any information on the Smith Family involved in this edit you sent this morning. My interest peaks on Jesse P. Smith.

James and Retta Duke
Hi Marilyn

I've transferred both of the Duke children to you-thanks for the links.
Your list of names that you are researching-you might want to check the ones that died 1900-1922; I've added quite a few obits for people with those names.

Well I found where Annie Stokes married Ben McElveen in 1957, at one point lived in Miami, but nothing on Mr. Munn either.

Thanks for the corrections. It was confusing -- I had to separate out and fix mine too! I also contacted Tracker (I think I know who she is), so maybe it'll get done.

Reed Fallow
Is his marker a mistake or did he chose to spell his name this way. My dad's brother spells his name one letter different than the rest of the siblings. I am reluctant to change anything if it is the person's wish to spell his name as shown on the marker.

McLeod in your tree
If you research SC McLeods, I've added at least a couple of McLeod obits in the past few months-thought you'd like to know.

Haley Gambrell
Reed Family Cemetery
Hi! I noticed that you photographed the Reed Family Cemetery in Blackville. I just discovered that my great-great-great grandparents are buried there. Could you give me information on how to find the cemetery? Is it accessible to the public, or will I need to contact someone? Thanks for all the research you're doing!
