Katherine (Kathi) White
Phebe Cunningham - Lanc. Rural
Your date of death is 100% correct. I have a copy of what is called "James Clark diary" (a founder of Lancaster) and he lists her in his diary as "Old Mrs. Cunningham d. March 7, 1852". She would and could only be buried in what is called the "old Section". I will do my best to look for her stone as soon as I can. Many in this section, are illegible or were never there to begin with.

Kathleen Blackburn Norris
Arthur Blair - Citico Baptist
I am sorry I could not find Arthur Blair's headstone. I walked both sections of the cemetery and fulfilled all the picture requests except this one. I feel like it is probably there and should be readable with a 1953 date, but I just couldn't find it. I won't forget and will look for it again when I am next in the cemetery. Please leave the request up.

Response to find-a-grave inquiries

Christ Church Parish' Parish Register, 1653-1812, exists and is on the Internet, containing lists of baptisms, marriages and burials from that date.

However, burials before 1843 could well have been at the Upper Chapel, now the site of a Baptist church, the Lower Chapel, now a Methodist church, or at cemeteries on private land. We have a roster of known, marked burials at the "Mother Church" near Saluda, Virginia, all but two of them being post-1843, when the church, which had been abandoned in 1813, was rebuilt. The vast majority of the headstones are from the later half of the twentieth century.

Unfortunately, we have no location data on earlier burials. Your ancestor does not appear in our known burial records. You might try contacting the Lower Methodist Church in Hartfield, Virginia, 23071 or Hermitage Baptist Church, in Churchview, Virginia, 23032.

Raylene Lapierre Lehnhoff
Absolum Abbott
I photographed this entire cemetery earlier this summer and went thru all my photos again today for you, there are no Abbott headstones. There are many headstones in this cemetery that are completely worn and unreadable. I did go back this afternoon and walked it just to make sure, but no luck. This cemetery hasn't been cut since early spring so it is very overgrown.

Sorry I couldn't help!

Albert Albertson, Highland Cem., Lawton, OK
Lillian Albertson has an individual flat grave marker. Albert Albertson does not. Their information is on their upright headstone. There is not a date of death for Albert.

Howard Cook - photo request
Hello. I went to get this photo today, however there was no marker. I am going to fulfill your request with a photo of the area. Howard's grave is in the exact center of the photo. There is a remote chance that the stone is buried under the sod, but I usually don't find that is the case on a burial that is fairly recent. That is, I've seen markers buried under 6 inches of sod, but they were from the 1920's or 30's.

I suggest that you call the cemetery this week and ask if there is supposed to be marker. The location they gave me was El Portal, lot 370, grave B. The office was already closed by the time I was at this location.

If they tell you there is a marker, let me know and next week I will get the groundskeepers to go over there with me and we'll uncover it and I'll get another photo.

Best Regards,

I forgot to mention the area that they are in is lovely. Has a very old wrought iron fence around the 4 graves and a huge shade tree.
