RE: Nellie Elliott Thomason Underwood and other info
No, they weren't married that long. That is so sad that he lost two wives in the same year!!

I have all kinds of info!!

The phote request you have for Susan Victoria Fisher in Mt Olivet will be done next time I get down that way. My friend and I looked and looked and could not find a Susan Fisher. When I got home I looked over her death cert. you posted. It stated that she was married and a Gillock gave the info. I also noticed she went by the name Victoria. I did some searching and found this:
http://www.so-ky.com/cem/barrencem/A/austin-mtoliv/gillock-fam.jpg

Also did you notice I added a Minnie Lee and Murrell Underwood to the same cemetery? Do you want me to transfer them to you?

Do you want me to transfer the Saben's that I added the links to?

I notice you posted the Foster Cemetery. I live down the street from it!! I will try to remember to get a picture of the cemetery. The Rush Cemetery is right down the road from Foster.

I plan on trying to find the Chapman Cemetery sometime soon. (If it evers stops raining here!!) I noticed on a website that there is a Bettie Jackman 3/23/1868 9/10/1905, Allen Jackman 8/16/1905 7/12/1906, Nora M. Jackman 10/13/1882 7/29/1907 w/o Lucian and a Judge J Jackman 6/20/1901 8/17/1976 listed besides the ones you have.

I am also looking into trying to find Shipley. Some of the same people listed in Shipley are also listed in the Shirley Cemetery. I hope I can figure it all out. I was not raised here so I don't know where a lot of these places are located. Wish me luck!!

Have a great evening!!

Slaughter's
I am so excited!! A friend at work was telling me about a cemetery she passes on the way home from work. She needed a ride home and we went to it. No sign up, so we didn't know the name of it. The first grave I saw was a Paul Smith Slaughter and I thought of you!! Once I got home I did some searching. I found the Darter Cemetery on a website with Paul on there.
http://www.so-ky.com/cem/darter.htm

Find a Grave did not have a Darter Cemetery listed so I created one. Paul is the son of Carlisle and Mintie Mary Smith Slaughter! I did a search for Carlisle Slaughter and found out that he was your relative! I will post a picture as soon as the weather clears up. Rainy and cloudy.

RE: Elizabeth Smith Mayberry
Elynn, I was kind of you to transfer the memorial to me. Thank you very much. I still havne't found anything else out about her. I beginning to think that her name may have been a taken English name by an Indian family. I hope to further investigate this summer when I visit family in KY and go up to Hamilton County, IL. I am trying to put together Mayberry info as well. I have created a Mayberry page on tribalpages.com. I would love for you to visit it and let me know of any additions, deletions, or corrections that need to be made. I haven't listed any sources yet. It's all very much a work in progress. The site is just an accumulation of things I've found on the internet and is really just for family to look at. I'll send you an invitation.

God Bless, Amy

How are you related to the gamblins? if you told me I forgot - thanks,

Lohden's
I was at New Salem Cemetery the other day. I wasn't there long because it was too cold!! I already added these to Find a Grave but will be happy to transfer any or all of the following to you:
Andie, Carl, Clara, Dennis, Earl, Edna, George, Harold, Manova, Mary Lee, Morris, Ollie, Robert, Ruby, Selby, Teresa, and Verah. Also check out Ersie Lohden Turner and Earlene Lohden Mathews. I transfer America Lohden to you the other day because you already had her husband. Edna and Teresa died on the same day. How sad.

Well, I hope I got all of them!! Some of the above names could be from when I was there before but I wanted to get the pictures all up. I also added pictures to some memorials that were already up. I have some others still to do but I finished with all the Lohden's that I had. I will go back to the cemetery when it gets warmer. I will try to find the two you requested pictures for.

Debra Usry
Dixie Boss-Antioch cem.- Lamar County
Ms. Boss,

My name is Debra Cornett Usry. I live in Lamar County, Texas. I am a volunteer for taking tombstone pictures for FINDAGRAVE.com. I noticed your request for Dixie Boss's tombstone picture located in Antioch Cemetery.

I have found it on another site owned by Mary Ferguson. She lives here in Lamar County, too. She records cemeteries in Lamar county, through tombstone pictures of the interments in each cemetery. She is also helping one of our Lamar County Genealogy Society web site coordinators with adding tombstone pictures to the deceased obits and information on
http://theusgenweb.org/tx/lamar/cemetery/

Mary's web site is called "AT ONE TIME". On that site you will find Antioch cemetery, among others. She is far from finished doing EVERY cemetery in Lamar County. Here is her link to her site:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~atonetime/index.html

Here is the shortcut link for the Antioch cemetery:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~atonetime/AntiochCemetery.html

And here is the shortcut link for the Dixie Boss's tombstone picture:http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~atonetime/antcem/BOSS_Dixie_Davis_1905_1929_.JPG

Since I am not taking the pictures, it would not be right for me to "claim" your requests and then "fulfill" with someone else's pictures. So, after you get the pictures, please go back and cancel the request..or contact someone at FINDAGRAVE.com to let them know, you no longer need those pictures and ..if you don't mind, let them know I "DIRECTED" you to the tombstone pictures that were found on another web site.

I think you can save that picture to your computer, but I would contact Mary Ferguson, on her contact page, to ask her if you can. I am sure she will tell you yes. She is a really generous, sharing person.

I am so glad that I found them for you. NOW, if you rather I go ahead and go to the cemetery and take a"fresh" picture, please contact me and I will go back and "claim" it again on FINDAGRAVE.com. I won't mind at all.

Happy Hunting and God bless,

Debra Cornett Usry

Sulphur Springs Cemetery
The index is in book form and I am not sure if that is one of the books they have for sale or not. The Genalogical Society manages the Hopkins County GenWeb site. They are located at:
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~txhopkin/
You might go to the site and send a e-mail to them. They have some excellent workers in the society.

Sulphur Springs City Cemetery
Hi Elynn,
I went ahead and added a death date for Ida Kennedy to her memorial and left the notes for the source of that date.
Just wanted you to know that I looked for Robert Gamblin while I was there and could not find a marker. The Genealogical Society has an index for City Cemetery with names, lots, plots, etc. and my undertanding is that Robert was buried in a plot owned by Nora Gamblin and is unmarked. I did not make a note on the request because I did not want to discourage a volunteer from looking for him.

Renfro's and others!!
Sorry, I forgot what cemetery to tell you to put them in. But you put them in the right one!! I went to Mount Pleasant today and got my fingers muddy (lol) cleaning on Kenneth Renfro's plaque (I guess that is what you can it and spell it!!) The dates are Dec. 30, 1919-Sept. 12, 1968. I put up a different picture but it is a little muddy. I hope you can see on this one.

Then I drove down the road further and went to Caney Fork Church Cemetery. It was so cold outside I just drove around until I recognized a last name!! I did not see your Nannie Belle Underwood Nabors but I did find Alice and Lallie Renfo. Pictures are up!! I will go back and walk the whole cemetery but it will probably won't be until Spring time!! I did find some more Francis graves. I even found Haskel Francis, he is not in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. I will contact who posted it and let them know. Here is a list of people I found. If they are related just let me know. I'm only going to list the years to shorten this.
Rondell b 1930 d 1994 and Patricia b 1935 d 2007
WT 1859-1932
Henry S 1862-1939 and Fidellia A 1864-1948
Flossie Francis Head 1894-1969
LG 1896-1984 and Della May 1910-1997
Harold, son of LG and Della Francis, Jan 28, 1945-Feb 6, 1945. These are all in the Caney Fork!

Roger Q. Nabors
Hi..I did go back out to the cemetery and I did find Roger Q. Nabors, as well as a Eunice (his wife, I believe) and a Wilbur (maybe a son?) all buried in the same curbed plot area. I posted a photo for Roger and added records & photos for Eunice and Wilbur.

More Nabors
There may have been..I do remember seeing 2 or 3 other Nabors in the cemetery, but I was focused on David. I can certainly go back and look at the ones that I did see, because I do remember where the other ones are. As soon as I get a chance I'll be happy to go back and look again.

How are you today? Just wanted to let you know I changed the pictures on the following: John and Victoria, Willie and Essie, and Thelma Francis. I didn't like the coloring. Do they look better?

I got your pictures done at New Salem. It is not in Temple Hill. It is just 2.7 miles off of a main road here I go by all the time. A friend of mine is going with me, hopefully next week, to check out Dewesse aka Bowles. Her grandmother is there. I didn't look to see if I would be taking pictures for you!! OK back to New Salem, I found some more names for you!!

You can email me, I posted mine. My email address is everywhere.

Now for Henry, on the Lone Oak cememetery records, his name was listed as Henry Strong Barton. These are the records where he bought the lots, however, his death record states Henry Strawn Barton so we are looking for a confirmation. Dana

Susan Barton
I was rushed a bit when I sent the other email. I was going to tell you that we do not know where the name came from. I have looked up the death records for some of their children and have talked to other members of this family and will get the name changed. However, if I do find there was another marriage I will let you know. The name did not come from me or Diane as her death date was too early for our research. We searched all death records and funeral home records and the records do not cover that early of a date.

Ada Lee Rhea is in my family tree so for a while I was researching Sam Barton (Henry's brother) and Ada's marriage and divorce. I read all the papers I could find on the killing. I just could not believe Sam just shot Jefferson right off his horse. But, now I have learned that several of the Barton's have histories : ) I have the clippings posted on the Navarro County site if you want copies just help your self, they are under Jefferson's name.

I think I have up all the pictures I can right now. I added a picture of Estella Underwood for you.

There is a Gladys Hope Church with William Homer and Berda. I will post picture when you let me know.

William and Mattie Church are in plot Park 1 not section L3.

At the Glasgow Cemetery I also found the following:

Other Church's
I went this morning and took some pictures for you. There is a Harrison F. Church May 13, 1891-Nov 11, 1928. He is in between William/Mattie's and Lucille's. Then two rows down are Thomas and Kate Church. Thomas's dates are Jan 7, 1839-Feb 15, 1931. Kates are Dec 28, 1845-Mar 3, 1926. I forgot to write down the dates at the cemetery but that is what they look like from the pictures. The pictures of Thomas/Kate didn't turn out very good. When I go back Thurs I will take some more. There are a lot of other Church's in the cemetery (it is pretty big). Go to this website http://www.hatchersaddler.com/Cemeterys/Glasgow%20Municipal%20Cemetery/index.html and go to the bottom and click on the C. The list is a few years old. Except for your Church's on Find A Grave, the others are not on the website. There are no dates but if a names sounds familiar just let me know and I will try to find them for you. I have a map of the cemetery!! Let me know your e-mail address or make a findagrave page for the above people to get the pictures.

Brent Gillespie
Pleasent Grove Cemetery
Hello Elynn,

I have transferred John Vickers to you, his stone sits next to his parents in the west section of the cemetery.
I see no other Vickers or Mayberrys in Pleasant Grove per my Stoddard Co. cemetery book.
And I to was a little surprised to see "Polly" on the stone. When I looked at it first in my book I thought it was a typo, but after seeing the stone I knew it wasn't. There has got ot be a story there somewhere!! (One more mystery to solve now. ha ha)

Anything else just holler,
Brent
