Yes, the Los Angeles Star was around back then " 1851" and I think the Pomona LIbrary and the Anaheim Library still has these on film. I could check here too. But at this time I live around San Luis Obispo, but when I get back down, I will check on one of these. I do have other look ups to do. I have a list of needs.
Have fun traveling.

Thanks for checking into this family, I will call up the Pomona Library and see what they can provide. I've been there many times and they do have a great deal of resources. But I must say that in those days they could had buried any body between the Rio Hondo and the San Gabriel River, for they couldn't gig more than a few feet before ground water would come up. Pretty weird. Again thanks .

You ask if for what info I had for placing Elijah Stowell here. Elijah had a son Elijah Jr was born in El Monte, " See his Memorial Find A Grave 115394831 " The creator of this memorial has a Obit for him. Elijah's family must had some records for having these dates for him, they are posted on Ancestry and FamilySearch. Plus, they have their date of marriage and they say they were married in El Monte. What I do know, is that they came from Texas in Nov 1853, and like many, they couldn't buy much land since most of the land was Spanish and Mexican Granted lands by this time. It is also said that Elijah's father and mother died in LA County by 1860. The census shows no William and Margaret Stowell with in. It is also interesting to know that a Fryer child is buried there, Emily I think. So, I had only what am seeing on the net at this time. Elijah also had two sisters that went up north and am in touch with a family member at this time. And they believe that he is bureid here. Plus Elijah's wife remain in El Monte and Married again.
And I know that it's not real proof, but what other cemetery would there be.

|Sandy Picklesimer||John Mohor|
Hi, I'm looking for any information you may be able to provide (obituary, etc.) for the subject, buried in section G, lot 14, grave 01. His headstone says 'beloved husband' but I am unable to find an interment of his wife (only name I have is "Katie").
Please, can you help me. No one in the family knows what happened to him, as he changed his last name to Mohor from Zabukovec when he moved to Los Angeles.
Thank you for your help.

Thank you! Is there a resource online that has all of that additional information? I would love to know any other background, as I am related to both the Tweedy and Reynolds families that are buried there, and all their collateral lines.

Does there seem to be any information as to why James Holyfield and Lottie, wife of Jim Owns are listed on the same headstone? I know James' wife was Nancy Owens. Was Lottie a relative of hers?

|Lynette Jones||Great research on memorials|
Thanks for the diligent work adding information from death certificates and newspaper clippings.
I have a first cousin, once removed, whom I've tried to find information on for years, and years. Today I figured out a husband's name and found he was buried here. He was Wilfred Lodge, and seems to have been a member of a family that had a lot of tragedy. Should you come up with any information on how he died, I'd love to know about it. He was only 38 years old.

Thank you very much for taking a photo and for writing the information down. I have been looking for her for some time now and had thought she was buried in Ohio, The date are exactly like mine so I know she is correct. I do not want her transferred as she is a cousin 2x removed.

You emailed me an offer to send me an obit on Knute Steenerson for 2/12/1921 from the San Diego Union...saying he is buried in Greenwood Cemetery San Diego. I will certainly look for him there. Could I please have a copy of that obit...it would mean a lot to me. Thanks K.Steenerson.Franklin@gmail.com

|Henry||Newspaper marriage record|
I was browsing through the "Chariton Courier" newspaper on the Internet looking for a different Williams family member and I found a mention of the wedding of George Goll and Ida M. Williams in the Friday, February 24, 1893 edition of the Chariton Courier newspaper, page 8 of the newspaper.
The mention of the marriage of George Goll and Ida M. Williams is at the bottom of page 8, near the middle of the page.
Here's a link to that newspaper page:
I also looked on the Family Search website for Ida M. Goll and found a 1900 census record for George Goll and his wife Ida M. Goll, showing the month and year that they were born along with their children.
Here's a link to that 1900 census record:
I thought you might like to include this information in the bio section of the Find-A-Grave website page for Ida May Goll.

I recently discovered where he was buried. The manager of the original memorial refused to link him to his parents because their burials have not been located. His parents memorials were created in 2011 by another volunteer. I have requested Find A Grave merge the two memorials so that the links and other info will not be lost.

|GreenHills Stones Calling||Francis Teeney|
Thank you for your message regarding noticing duplicate memorials for Francis Teeney.
My memorial # 72149936 was created in Green Hills Memorial Park in June 2011.
Memorial # 65453037 was created as Burial Unknown in Feb 2011. It was changed just about a week ago to Green Hills Memorial Park, thus creating a duplicate. Its creator has graciously communicated an intention to delete. So all should be well soon.

Thank you so very much for finding his burial location. I entered the memorial based on the obit I was posting and I am never quite sure if the newspaper got the cemetery name or location correct. I like it to be verified!
Hope someone comes forward that is related.
Thank you , again,

|Kevin Thomas West||RE: Jennie Edwards|
thank you for the transfer of Jennie Curden Clinton Edwards. I don't want to give too much information here, but I am living out of the country and can't call this Bobbie Taylor. Furthermore, it would be better if she spoke with my mother, as mom met Jennie when she was a little girl. My mom being the granddaughter of Jennie's husband James Edwards. If you give Bobbie my email address, listed on my profile page, I'll be happy to reply and give her my mom's number in the US.

|Kevin Thomas West||RE: Find A Grave Correction: Jennie Edwards|
regarding Jennie Edwards at Savannah, yes, there is a more immediate family member out there. I believe a man named Roger is helping her great grand childen find more information on her life. If he or they want to manage her memorial, I'm all good with that, I wasn't sure they had accounts on here.
And yes, James married two Jennie's. The love of his life was the other Jennie, as they were together a good 40 years, up until her death. He was married to Jennie at Savannah for about 9 years, up until her death as well.
I'll be happy to wait.
And thank you,

Several years ago, I put all the records they had in the Book of the Dead at the Mission. The records came from their books. The books ran from 1910- The older records had already gone to the Diocese.
Hope this helps. Jim
