RE: Lucinda Moody Metcalf
I would love info on Rebecca's family. I have had a hard time finding anything on them. My aunt told me a little she had been told. I think her husband FM was from Arkansas, and that they lived near Sarah and EB Metcalf for a while. As I have heard, at one point the lady who became my grandmother was at one time engaged to one of Rebecca's sons and he didn't show up for the wedding or something. Also would love to read the newspaper about James Metcalf's murder. My grandfather was named for him.

Maranita,
I would love to know if/how you are related to "Liddie" Reece.
I have taken a photo of the stone marking her burial. She is listed on the side of the large memorial for Levi, her husband.
Looking forward to a response, please!

Hi,
I will be in the area of Maness Cem. next week and will take the photo of Lydia's stone. She is buried with her husband Levi. She was a daughter of Benjamin Harrison, and my gr. gr. Aunt. Are you related?

Your dates seem to be accurate. I made the changes you requested and added the two siblings.
I live down the road from Sharon but never knew her. A friend of mine visited with her years ago.
It is my understanding, her mother was living in a nursing home in Hollis, when Sharon passed away.
She is buried near her husband.

Lucinda Moody Metcalf
Lucinda was sister to my great grandmother, Sarah Moody Metcalf. I was told that Lucinda's husband James H. Metcalf, brother to my great grandpa EB Metcalf, was shot and killed by horse thieves. Have been unable to prove this. I have never been to Terrell Texas but would love to go there. I too do genealogy for my own pleasure. My great grandparents, EB and Sarah moved from Terrell Texas in 1876 to Benton County Arkansas. lgrimes@leru.net

Greetings Ms. Pettit,

I am new to this site, found it in search for my grandparent's grave site and haven't used it for more. I thank you so much for taking the photo of my grandparents' stones (Troy Belvie and Helen May Renfro). I am in south Florida but it was your photo that alerted my family to the fact that my grandmother's stone had the incorrect year of death. They had engraved the year 1945 which was when my grandfather died. My grandmother lived until 1989. By telephone I was able to alert the cemetery. It took a few weeks but they say the stone has been replaced with the correct date.

thank you again.
Love and hugs, Cathy

I don't know nor remember if I have taken care of this. I have rechecked my records and can't find any of the names you sent me. My LaRue line came from Arkansas to around McAlester, Oklahoma

RE: LaRue
My great Aunt Lucy Vaughn LaRue married Thomas Lonzo LaRue (his second wife) and they had 5 children, Thomas had 3 or 4 children with his first wife (Annie Moore). I have been unable to trace any records past the 1930 census and it showed them living in Lamar Co TX but from obits of their children I found out that Thomas Lonzo was living in Hugo Oklahoma. No mention of Lucy. So she probably died sometime after 1930 but with no more records available and no obits for her it is hard to figure out when. People had a tendency to simply forget the person once they died. If they are somewhere in your tree I would love to hear from you. My email address is jerkycaser@msn.com Be sure to put something in the subject line so I don't automatically delete the msg. Thanks Maranita

I personally have not seen this stone. The photo was shared by a friend of mine. Perhaps the next time I am near that cemetery, I will photograph the backside of the stone.

RE: Catherine Jones
The grave at the Sutter Creek Catholic cemetery is unmarked (the one to the right of the curb with white rocks), other than an unreadable mortuary marker. In talking with the cemetery managers, and counting up and down from marked graves, we determined which space it was.

Lela Thrasher photo request
Can you contact Grove Hill cemetery and get the burial locations for your requests: 214-381-7118
There are over 323 photo requests and the volunteers can not ask for that many locations.

Your requests will get filled with the location information. The cemetery does not like to cooperate with findagrave volunteers.
thanks!

Richard and Louisa Lodema Lee Cheadle
Dear Maranita Pettit: I see I am not the only one contacting you about Cheadles (Nathan Haines?). Our paths have crossed and I may have been the one to put him on to the Cheadle descendant he mentions in his message. Small world, right?

I am currently compiling in hard copy the Cheadle family history of which the above is a descendant (2nd great grandson of the progenitor, George Cheadle). My mother-in-law was a Cheadle. I am NOT requesting transfer of any memorials. I thank you for your advance permission to use your photos but wanted you to know that credit will be given such as "Courtesy of Maranita Pettit, contributor, Find A Grave Memorial # ? ? ?" if that is agreeable.

My treatise is in no way a profit making project and will not (by my request) be posted on the internet nor will living individuals be included to the best of my ability.

You have no idea how much we who are of an age (I'm, 84) or distance and cannot traipse through cemeteries as we once did appreciate the effort and passion of you who contribute to Find A Grave. Many thanks from an old lady.
