|Donna Watkins||John McPhail b. 1830|
I don't believe that Allen McPhail was the father of John McPhail. Allen married for the first and only time in 1839 to Parthenia. I believe the father of John was the brother of Allen, a John, Sr. b. abt. 1802. He is listed in the 1830 census in Covington County with a wife and one male child under 5. John, Sr.'s wife was unknown. She may have died shortly after the birth of their daughter Mary Jane. John, Sr. died before 1860. The grandmother Dicey raised the last child, Mary Jane, who married John Wesley Dyess.

Not related to family. Have been reviewing old papers to preserve the old family names and history if found.
Thank you for adding the info to his memorial. It sometimes tells a story that family may not know.

And, his grandson Josiah for DAR. Small world, Cousin Melissa
Good morning Cuz Melissa,
My line is through Ann Stovall Griffin, daughter of John Stovall. Then the next couple of generations are through daughters with name changes to Lucinda Wright who married Anderson B. Davis.
I have a Stovall cousin here on Amelia Island that came through Josiah too and we are in the same DAR chapter. Josiah and Ann are just a few difference in age.
You have a bless day!

Just realized that Richard was my husband's 4th great grandfather, from Clara Morris Milligan. See the Newkirk Family line on Ancestry.com if you have a subscription. Otherwise, we may have to fill in each other's knowledge of similar relatives.

Do you need dates on those two people? The book gives it. I don't know where they got the info.

|John||Johnson Family Cemetery|
I drove by what is left of the Johnson Family Cemetery today and from the road it appears that it is basically some bushes and rocks in a non-accessible private yard.

I got your request. According to the Barrow Co. Cemetery book the cemetery is in someone's fenced in yard and according to the book there is no tombstone for this person but a pile of rocks. Sorry!

Hey Melissa, Sure, I understand. I think he would have been my 4th cousin. Do you suppose I could get some tree history from you to add to mine? I sure wouldn't mind knowing a little about your line.
I know who his parents were, his wife, Carolyn Dyess, all of their 7 or so children and their birth dates but little else after them.
I'm figuring that your my, what, 5th cousin ? Hard to say. Can you E-mail me with a short history, maybe? A few leads would give me a good start. Would love to talk a little about it with you. I'll share whatever info that I have if you want.

Hi Melissa, I'm on this McPhail tree and was wondering if you are too. I don't want to take advantage of any of your efforts if you are, but if not, would you consider transferring John McPhail
# 3292906 to me ??? I'm trying to gather my tree together for our records. If you are look on my name and you may find info to our tree. Leave a message if you need anything.

Hi Elizabeth, I do believe that G.M. is buried in the old Catholic Cemetery near 35.
I will go check the new one near my house.

I added the picture, but the marker was covered with mold and is hard to read, normally. I found if I used my photo editor and changed it to negative, it was very easy to read. If you want, I can send the negative directly to you.

I've made the transfers as you requested. In the future, it'd be a little easier if you could send your requests using the "Transfer Management" link just above the pictures on the memorial page. Doing it this way provides a direct link to the page you want transferred. Thanks.
