Warren Family Cemetery
After some effort, I located the Warren Family Cemetery---searching for the burial site of 2nd Lt. James Perkins Warren (1840-1921) of Co. B 38th Virginia Infantry CSA. The cemetery is located 11 miles south of the U. S. 220 & Old Franklin Turnpike (U S. #40) junction at Rocky Mount, Franklin County, VA in Sydnorsville It sits 90 feet east of the Virgil H. Goode Highway (U.S. #220) on a slight rise in a pasture and is not visible from the highway. It is located opposite (ENE of) the brick mansion known as the Wade House on the west side of the highway. GPS co-ordinates are: 36.872480; -79.870343.
The cemetery is overgrown and unmaintained. The wrought fence is mostly knocked down and most of the headstones have fallen over.

RE: Nancy Estelle
I have transferred this memorial to your safe keeping. I received some previous edits and they must have been in error. I generally try to check edits and those who send them. I must have overlooked the edits on this one. Without a full Ancestry Tree, it is sometimes hard to decipher the information.

I am also noticing someone has added a new memorial to this cemetery? Somehow, I think this is one of those Obituary Hounds, who doesn't check the information and assumes too much at times. Providence Cemetery is small; however, there are many unmarked graves. I do not know how a new burial could be made without digging up another grave? The next time I am in Troy, I will check it out. Unless, you live nearby? I suspect this Memorial 149620955 is in error? On my visit, I documented and photographed the entire cemetery.

Let me know, if I can help.

Spencer Catlin Andress
Many thanks for the nice picture. I've added additional bio info to the memorial as well as several photos of the niche. Agnes died earlier the same year Spencer passed, so it seems likely they'd have been placed in the same niche; however, as the photo shows, only Spencer's name is on the marker. You might consider contacting Riverview Abbey Mausoleum and having them check their records to see if Agnes might have been placed in Spencer's vault with no name attached to the marker. This happens more often than one might think.

RE: Jesse B Dowland grave photo
Happy to help. I posted photos for the other Dowlands in the same two lots. I did not find a stone for Margaret the second wife who is also supposed to be there. Might check again when the snow melts.
Also be aware that this cemetery is not WN Meeting House. It is the Presbyterian cemetery, there is no adjacent Meeting House cemetery. WN Meeting, now inactive, is in Harrisville a mile or so away, with its own cemetery, listed on Find A Grave as Harrisville Meeting.

May I ask you where you found Elizabeth dates? She was married to my 5th great grand uncle and I've been able to find any documents with her birth and death dates on them so I am naturally curious. Thank you

John Perry Miller
You have entered a memorial for this name. Curious if you are related and maybe know more about relatives. :-). I found a picture of a John Perry Miller that was taken in 1942 when he was but 9 months old. The picture is in an Antique store in Texas. Just trying to give someone a heads up if interested. Sad to see pictures that are labeled with who the are being for sale.

Robert Beasley 1907 - 1907
Hello again Gary!

Was wondering if you could transfer this page to me as well. This little Robert would have been my great uncle. I am trying to link all my Beasley family together!

If you care to, look at Annie Beasley's page! I found found four more of her children. So slowly writing info as I receive it.

WE are getting to lose her precious baby girl, FAnnie Bell, who was born in 1919. So this is so important to our family.

Thank you so much!

Hello Gary!

I was wondering if you might transfer Annie's page over to me? I am her great-granddaughter on my mother's side and have more information to add regarding our family. I would so appreciate your consideration on behalf of her family!

Her baby daughter is getting to pass and I would like to link all of her family together.

Warmest blessings,

James T. Wood at Odd Fellows Cemetery/First Street Cemetery of Waco
Hello Gary,
Thanks for your message. Please feel free to send me any info. about Hettie Wood (husband's names, dates, etc). I'll be looking out for a marker. I believe James T. Wood's marker is the only marker in a large family plot with a grave curb.
Look at Martin Walker on the FSC findagrave memorials. I have been taking photos of about 1/2 the markers at FSC to date. I found this fragment of a CSA grave marker. It was not found on the 1962 or the Boy Scouts survey of FSC markers.
Maybe I'll find Hettie's....

Old Waco
James T. Wood at Odd Fellows Cemetery/First Street Cemetery of Waco
Dear Gary,
Thanks for placing his memorial at First Street Cemetery. I've seen his large granite grave marker many times. He was buried in the section of First Street Cemetery which has had very little, if any, disturbance over the years.
I feel sorry for the pioneers of Waco who were buried in the City and Masonic sections of this historic cemetery which had a ranger museum and the campground of Fort Fisher Park built over their gravesites.
James T. Wood was fortunate to be buried in Odd Fellows Cemetery/First Street Cemetery.
