Carol Asha 46356425
Hi Carol,

Would you mind transfering my mother's memorial over to me (Carol Asha 46356425). It never occurred to me to look for an existing one since she was cremated and scattered and had no grave for someone to find. The one I created later is a duplicate of this record. You must have added her when the obit was published in the Ledger. Thank you for catching it for adding her as well.

Linda

Hamilton Smith
Peter Bolston Adams
Mr. Adams was the son of Deacon John Adams and Susanna Boylston. This information was provided by Melody Clark Nov 19 2010.

What was her reference material used?

Like most people tracing their lineage, I am looking for her source.

French to Beal to Blanchard
Thanks, Carol. Added the ids. so you'll have to accept them.

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=29337712

REASONS
1, She has a birth date matching Joshua and Esther's Sarah.

2, She is one of these French's four or five top cemeteries, not in a county known to have Frenches of other DNA

3, Her spouse Eleazer had a Puritan biblical first name, even though it was getting "late in the game" to keep giving those to kids. My husband's Frenches were marrying other Puritans 80% of the time, true until the civil war killed too many Puritan-descended males of a certain age, so the "excess" women who normally would have married them started marrying men lots older or, if widowed with land, up to 10 years younger, or, done increasingly as time went on, switched to non-Puritans (in my husband's side, mostly Germans)

4, Her Blanchard grandchildren are in Brockton (Plymouth County), so are in one of the Frenches' major migration paths outward from Braintree. It's amazing those Blanchard children could all find jobs and stay so close, not have to fan out.

The original "ancestress" with very old stone, Grace French, Hancock Cem. in Quincy, was believed by some Frenches to have come from the Aldens of Plymouth, so it makes sense that French descendants are found down by Bridgewater (Brockton used to be North Bridgewater?) where the Aldens would be in greater numbers, with in-laws being part of the support system.

Grace being an Alden is a tradition rather than a fact, as no one wrote her maiden name down in her own era, possibly assuming "everybody knows it" was good enough!

Thanks for sending her along!

Julia
