RE: Thanks
In regards to Peter Whistler, information obtained from cemetery records. With that said, they are only as good as the people recording them. Records indicate Peter (5/23/1813-6/1/1857), wife Elizabeth (d. 7/30/1880 age 65/9/13), and their son Jacob (d. 10/22/1843 age 21 day) buried in the lots indicated. Could Elizabeth be Esther Elizabeth or Elizabeth Esther? Was Peter married twice? Will try to find out from the church and keep you posted on findings.

Updated Dare/Derr stones with better photos. Hope they are a little more readable, as they are somewhat weathered.

Hoenshell in Westmoreland Co., PA
Just thought this may be of interest.

In the 1867 Atlas of Westmoreland county, PA the J. Hohenshall farm just East of now Smithton, PA. I visited an old cemetery, on this farm yesterday, April 23, 2016. known to the locals as the Hoenshell burial ground, The cemetery is located along a fence row about 250yards North/East up a demanding hill behind the old farm house. There were about 9 field stone marked graves, none of which were readable. The graves as far as known could be of some of the Hoenshell children or family pets as far as I know. I remember of hearing about this cemetery about 55years ago and thought it to be worth a visit.

New System for Memorial Edits deployed by FindAGrave on 12/5/2013

Go to your Contributor/Profile page. Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits" - check there to see if any have been submitted to you. Then just review and accept.

Way easier for doing updates to names/dates/places/plot numbers/links. If you don't approve within 21 days it will automatically accept it.

You still will get e-mails to add info to bio section.

RE: Wagner Gravestone Photos
You are welcome for the photos. The elder Peter Wagner and his wife are my 6 great-grandparents, and I have been looking for their graves for awhile. If I can, I will return at a different point of the day to see if I can have better lighting on Barbara Dockstader Wagner's stone. . . .

RE: Eliz Hoenshel Shumaker
The note I added to the photo request was not intended to compel you to cancel the request. Rather, I added the note to convey that Jonas and Elizabeth are reportedly in Section 3 of Fairview. The fact that a (careful, detail-oriented) researcher made this determination leads me to hope they can be found. This researcher was elderly, and I have not been in touch with him in over ten years, but I will make an effort to contact him.

I would love for someone to check Section 3 to see if their graves are found. Do you have reason to believe we should give up on finding the graves or that efforts have already been made?

RE: Wrong Cemetery
I'm sorry I created duplicates. I only knew they were buried in the same cemetery as her mother, Catherine. When I saw her memorial in Ashland, I assumed they were buried there as well. A rookie mistake, I'll admit and I should have known better. Which cemetery is Catherine buried in? Ashland or Newville? Thanks.

Your welcome. I just wish they were readable. I have an old copy of a cemetery "walk through" book that lays out the stones by row. Mike

Your welcome. I do have a photo of a Willi Leh that is part of that family but does not have a memorial. If you are interested in making a memorial for him, I will gladly add the photo. I also added the other family members to their respective memorials.

RE: Graveyard destroyed
Prof. I am responding to your message about the cemetery at Akron. This cemetery was don in by contractors who built the apartment. At this time the cemetery was just a clump of weeds and over growth.
As far as stones many were no longer there and the Cemetery was not very big. I do not know how many were there in all. I can take a photo of location. This happened with the damage to the cemetery long before the 1900's. This cemetery was mostly gone long before there was anything like preservation. I think the stones if any were put under the ground for fill. They were just small rocks then. All this I was told by older residents that their grandparents told them when they were small. Yes, shame! So I say sorry to you on behalf. Be Well Will do some research and see what happens. Harold Lash

William Bitner, Sr.
I see that you are saying William is your 4th grandpa. I'm doing research on my log house, and it is a very high possibility that you log house belonged to the Bitner's. Do you know if this is the same Bitner that lived in Saville twp.? My research also came up as carpenter, but there was a mill close to the log house that we have always thought was part of the Bitner acres. Any insight you have on the Bitner's would be appreciated. There is also a good possiblity that Adam Bitner could be involved in our log house somehow also.

Andreas or Catharine Unangst
I'm looking for proof of lineage from Andreas Unangst to daughter Catharine Unangst Craft/Croft, both buried at First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chambersburg, PA. There are no photos of gravestones in this website record, I'm wondering if there are no headstones? And if not, how do we know they are buried there? Thanks for any info.

RE: Dunkelberger Transfers
Yes, the Dunkelbergers are my direct line...they are also my 5th gr-grandparents. I believe our paths have crossed on this family a few years ago...you've done wonderful work on them.

My line is Clement Sr, Clemens, Solomon, John, Wm. Penn, Viola (Snider), Newton (Snider), me.

I'm in the process of proving Clement, Sr. as my Revolutionary Patriot for DAR.

Yes, please send me your information...I'll be more than happy to add it to link the families in the other cemeteries. There might be some information that will help me.

Thank you for your continued work.

Landis transfers
Hello Ed,

It is my pleasure to make the transfers. Landis and Shively/Sheibleys intermarried along several generations in the early years. Do you have a copy of Laura Willhide Johnson's book? I call it my Sheibley Bible and as far as finding all of my Sheibley/Shively ancestors I have only scratched the surface.
Also thanks for the photo of Simon Sivley and his wife. Please let me know if there is more to be added. May I use your photo on my Ancestry site? I have these memorials because Dee transferred them to me after an inquiry I made. Her name should remain as the originator of the memorials. Let me know if you want any more.

And yes I am related to the first Peter Shively #64472989 who came to America in 1749 and was forced into redemption by his father. My line is from his son John Peter 1793-1871.

Guess we are distant cousins.
Good luck Cathy
