Larry, Thank you for jogging my brain. I had this info, of course, but had neglected to mention Jesse on Lavisa's profile. I will remedy that quickly. Thanks again.

|Investigator||Photo Request, John & Sarah Wingard|
I am working on your photo request in Lexington, SC for the above. I have been unable to locate the two graves at St Stephens Lutheren Church cemetery in Lexington, SC. It is one of our older church/cemetery and has a large cemetery.
I have walked it twice and obtained an alphabetical listing of the existing graves.
Due to the age of the cemetery, there are a number of graves, that were there when the list was compiled, that do not have markers, or the existing markers are so worn by time and weather they are unreadable.
My question is, since we have four, older, Lutheren church/cemeteries in a very close proximity, all of which date back to the 1700's, and the Wingards were members of each. This morning I spoke with St. Peters, St. John's and Pisgah, and neither have John & Sarah on the cemetery lists.
Last, but not least, The older section of St. Stephens has a large, older Wingard family area, with a number of unmarked and unreadable markers.
I am more than glad to pursue any other leads and/or thoughts you can provide.

I have added a map to the cemetery page but the entrance is not as shown on the map. Here are specific directions;
Leaving North Carrollton, travel as if you are going to Evergreen Cemetery but take the road just before the turn to Evergreen. This is Winona Road. You should see Evergreen on your left across a field.
Continue for about a mile and just after you cross a small bridge there will be a mailbox on the left with the words "Seldom Seen". Turn left onto the gravel road here and follow it around to an open air shop on the right. Park here and continue walking until the road splits and take the right fork. A few hundred feet down you will see the graves on the left side off the road about 50 ft.
This is private land and belongs to Dr Carroll's son. He probably won't mind the visit, we were welcomed when we asked.

Were the 2 of them husband and wife? They were not side by side. There was a space and then another grave and Mary was on the end.

My pleasure Larry. This is just a few minutes from my house and I actually found a recent grave of an old friend that wasn't documented yet. So it was a two fold trip!

The picture I posted is the family plot. There is not a marker for Miriam. There is a marker for the husband and the infant son(Upper right).

|Juanita Shreves||lowman headstone info|
when I posted that information, it was obtained from Church records from Epiphany Lutheran Church in St Matthews. I no longer have those records since the church shut down in about 2006. I was secretary/treasurer at the very end of the Church life. Now the records are kept at the Main office in Columbia and there is a copy at the St Matthews museum as I gave them a copy recently.
Sorry I can't help more,
