We were raised in that area, parents on both sides of both of us were from Mt Calm area. We lived in the Waco area ourselves from 1967 to 1970 until we split up and went other ways. We reconnected and got married again in 2011.
My side was Jones and Ward and Carol was Yates and Whisenant. Her dad also went by L.D.

RE: Glenn TAnner Jr.
You are correct..I have notified the contributor of the other memorial to delete their memorial.

The problem is that you have his name as Glenn and VA has his name as Glen...If your spelling is correct, it would help for you to put in the "Notes" section that your spelling is correct.

I'm going back home in a couple of months and will pick up all of their research... I used to go with Aunt Mickey to the county clerk's office when I was young... it was a great experience. Once I have everything, I'll let you know. I live in Houston now and you aren't too far away. Maybe we can open the boxes together! I'll send you a list of who to switch over in a couple of days.Good talking with you!

I'm Cathy (Tarkington) DeVine... my aunt's were Mickey & Tina. Would it be possible for me to take over their sites? My mom, Wanda was their baby sister. When their parents died, my mom was the only one to get adopted, while Aunt Tina and Uncle Bud tried to keep the others together. my aunt's and uncle were incredible people who I still miss and would like to write more about them (plus add spouses). My family usually donate their bodies to science, so I have a few more to add. I appreciate all the time you've invested in this research... it means a lot. Thank you

RE: Jesse Harrison Tarkington-Camp Groce
I will be glad to process whatever info you send. As to exactly where he is buried, your deduction is correct. The entry in the McDade cemetery was taken from an old cemetery book done in 1976. Mr Lisarelli's finding were based on who was stationed at Camp Groce and where they were when they died. Since many of the Camp Groce soldiers died in a Hempstead Hospital and some of those were buried at McDade, it is listed in both places. We will never know for sure exactly where.

This information was obtained from the research of Danial Frances Lisarelli. He has spent many years researching Camp Groce in Waller County/Hempstead and has graciously allow us to post his findings on Find A Grave. You can find other information about Camp Groce on the Waller County Historical Society web page www.wallercountyhistory.org under the "Document" tab and in Mr. Lisarelli's book. A link on how to obtain a copy of his book is also provided in the above website under "Publications", "The Last Prison, The Untold Story of Camp Groce. In his book, he has a listing of all people buried at Camp Groce and his references.

Yes, There maybe someone who is a member of the Monroe County Historical Society might be able to help out in finding her 1826 marriage record. Monroe County Historian is Ms Joyce E. Poling jpoling@homefinder.org, (812) 336-1813. I hope this is current info. You may want to get in connect with the Monroe County Public Lib. The Librarians in the Indiana Room may be able to help out. Let me know if you get any leads on this ok. Good Luck. Mervin Guy

Yes, I made a trip to Minden once and I went to the local library and I did see those obits though I did not get a copy of them because there was some problem with their copy machine or the librarian did not know how to print then off.

Anyway, I have a question. have you found a marriage license for Burton & Sarah Berry from Monroe County, Indiana? Somewhere I read that there was a WPA project and there was a marriage for Sarah Berry that they found. Mervin
