|Nancy (Hitchcock) Clewell||Dora Adaline (Elliott) Allen memorial|
Hi Janet: I have sent thru a couple of SACs for this memorial. Dora was the daughter of Beverly R. Baker and Anna Akers, but later either was adopted or took the name of her stepfather Nathan Elliott. I am helping one of our cousins, who is a great great grand-daughter of Dora's, with her family tree. Thank you for all you do.

I am aware there are photos for the Doggett's at Rose Hill. I was hoping you might be willing to take new ones so their names and dates are visible, not hidden behind plants. Thank you.

Your response is a little ambiguous. You initially give me approval to use your photograph of the grave of Ben Harding White, then you add a restriction.
I'm not sure how I want to use the photograph, if at all. I may want to have a page per member of my grandfather's WWI army unit. I was also thinking of a collage of graves of those who served in this unit. This decision is at least a year away, I simply don't know at this point.
So, I'll restate, is it permissible to use your photograph of the grave of Ben Harding White in any way I want? My goal is to honor my grandfather and those who served with him. Yes, it would likely be with a for-profit book or magazine article, or maybe both. I don't know at this time since I'm still gathering information. I won't know what direction I'll go until I complete gathering information.
Sure. What I object to is the use of Find A Grave photos to publish cemetery books using our photos.

|Bryan Anderson||Ben Harding White|
I am researching my paternal grandfather's WWI army unit, Company B, 355th Infantry, 89th Division. According to the History and Roster of the 355th Infantry, Ben Harding White of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was a member of this unit.
I'm not sure where I'm going with my project, but I have aspirations of publishing something someday. So, would it be permissible to use your photograph of the grave of Ben Harding White in any publications I might have in the future?

I am researching my paternal grandfather's WWI army unit, Company B, 355th Infantry, 89th Division. According to the History and Roster of the 355th Infantry, Ben H. White was a member of this unit.
On your findagrave post (Find A Grave Memorial# 114461328) for Ben. H. White, there is no indication he was part of this unit. Might you know whether he was part of this unit?
Thank you! Any information is greatly appreciated.
With warm regards,

That is indeed very sad. There is an empty plot next to William Cromwell Knox, her husband, but no marker. So sorry I could not have been more help.

I noticed you have several requests for East End cemetery & I wanted to let you know that James Archer was a key photographer at this cemetery. He has posted all headstone photos that are available and legible.

There is no information to add to his memorial.
I would like to manage because he is my blood relative.
And yes I have the Find A Grave guidelines.
Again, I thank you for your time.

I made the changes to Mrs. Salley's memorial, including her birthplace, Gainesville. However, her obit stated she was born in Colleyville. However, if you are sure she was born in Gainesville I will leave it at that.

JANET, JUST QUICKLY, THAT ADDRESS OF 1115 E ST., S.W. IS IN FACT IN WASHINGTON, DC. BETWEEN 11TH & 12TH ST., S.W. THE REASON I'M SURE IS BECAUSE I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN THAT NEIGHBORHOOD. IT WAS DOWN BY THE WHARF AND THE WHOLESALE MARKET.

Please tell me you are related to him. I need to get ahold of his daughter Sharon. In an estate sale back here in Ridgefarm, Illinois my brother got a bunch of photos, included among them is a birth certificate (really sweet one) for Sharon Marie. Also there are Sweet family photos. I am trying to find someone who would be interested in them. Thanks. Jim
