Ida Maynard
Charlene,

I didn't claim this photo, but when I saw a problem reported for it, I checked the online Tipton Cemetery records and found the following Maynards buried there.

Maynard, E.M. WL.1-L.87-G.1

Maynard, Elizabeth Alexander d. 16 Jul 1957
WL.1-L.87-G.6

Maynard, G.W. d. 14 Oct 1953
WL.1-L.87-G.7

Maynard __lot
WL.1-L.87-G.8&9

As you can see all of the graves are very close together, so I assume they are all related. GW Maynard is in Grave 7. There is either another Maynard buried adjacent to GW in Grave 8, and possibly 9, or the name Maynard and "lot" simply means that graves 8 and 9 are owned by the Maynard family, but empty.

If you know that Ida died in the Tulare-Tipon-Pixley Area and have her date of death, I can look for her obit in the Tulare Advance Register, which would probably have carried her obit.

Let me know if you'd like me to check on it.

Gish
Hi,

James Madison Gish was the son of John W. and Margaret Amanda Gish. John William Gish was the grandson of John W. and Margaret. George W. Gish and Minnie J. Strong were the parents of John William so that makes George W. son of John W. and Margaret Amanda Gish. I believe that John W. and Margaret Amanda Gish are buried in Randall Community Cemetery but no proof yet.
If you use Family Search web site and MN Historical Society web site, you can learn more about these Gishes (lots of them). The MN Historical Society has birth and death certificates on their web site by clicking on them.

Gish
Hi,

John William Gish's parents were George H or W Gish and Minnie Strong. Per Verne Gish's death certificate and obituary, John had the following brothers and sisters - Verne Gish of Little Falls, MN, Arthur Gish of Deerwood, MN, Merton Gish of Fargo, ND, Ray Gish of Lakeland, FL, Edith McGinnis of Seattle, WA, Alma Johnson of Randall, MN, Eva Winberg of Grand Rapids, MN, Mrs. C. A. B. Jensen of Drummond, WI.
I will try to get to Demoss Cemetery to take John William Gish's gravestone picture.

Gish

Hi,

John William Gish could not be the son of James Madison Gish as John was born in 1909 and James died in 1898. I would have to look at John's death certificate to see parents listed.

RE: George Maynard and family
Grandview cemetery records have been compiled into a book. These records came from the original records. The only thing we know about is that they are buried there. The records do not indicate whether or not there is a tombstone.
I did a lot of walking that day but couldn't find most of the stones listed in Find a Grave.

RE: Barsches in Meusebach.
I understand about the crowds on Main Street. I grew up in Stonewall and went to school in Fritztown. I've contended for years that they should paint lines on the Main St. sidewalks designating tourist and local lanes, so we can get to Dooleys and the Bakery without having to think evil thoughts about the dawdling touristas. LOL! Thanks again for the pictures.

I gladly add bios and familial links for those memorials which fall outside of the FindAGrave transfer guidelines. Please DO NOT post them to my personal page, send one per SAC (Send A Correction) located under the EDIT tab on each memorial. No more than 20 SACs per week. Thank you.

Hello
I sent both George and Elizabeth their memorials say no headstone but that may not be right a lot of the headstones are flat and the grass grows over them. If I get a chance to go home again I will look for their headstones. If Elizabeth is of no kin then you can transfer herback if you want.

Otto & Amelia Austerman
Charlene,

You'll notice that Otto's headstone is wearing down. I brushed it off but didn't want to use any water on it because of the dirt around it. The headstone is sinking a bit so the soil and grass are creeping up on it. I was able to wash off Amelia's headstone and it is beginning to show some wear too. Their location is out in the bright sun, so that probably is part of the issue. Let me know if these are OK with you.

Take care & stay warm,

Margi

RE: Photo Requests
Charlene,

I claimed another request last night for Fairhaven. I checked it this morning at 7AM and it was still there. I then checked at 7:30 and it was gone. I had all the information for the person that submitted the request, so I've sent her a message to see if by some chance, she had removed her request.

Also, I double-checked one of my disappearing requests from last week, for Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange. The gal told me that she had received a message from a volunteer saying there wasn't any headstone. So I stopped by this afternoon and guess what - there was a headstone.

I really think this goes along with your comments from yesterday. It seems too strange to be a system issue. Maybe more like a "two legged" issue.

Anyway, I have your information for Fairhaven. I'm planning a trip out to Riverside Natl. tomorrow for some f/u requests. Then I will see what I can find at Fairhaven.

Let me know if you hear anything from Find A Grave.

Take care,

Margi

RE: Photo Requests
Charlene,

I too have sent a message on to Find A Grave regarding the problem. Besides your 6 requests, I've lost 4 others just in the last week. It seems that there aren't any photo requests in Orange County, which is very strange. I had someone cotact me this evening regarding the same issue I'm having at Fairhaven - she claims a request and then it disappears. I had claimed a request at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery and it disappeared. I questioned the orignator and she said she got a message that there wasn't a headstone. So, based on your statement, I'm going to go over to H.S. and double-check for myself. I personally would have taken a photo of the site even if there wasn't a headstone.

What was the statement after "Other Problem"? Maybe the individual they were dealing with did this - it doesn't really seem like it's a system issue. I do allot of work out at Riverside Natl. and haven't had any problems out there only in the Orange County cemeteries.

So, yes go ahead and send me an e-mail. Hopefully this will be cleared up soon.

Take care,

MArgi

Photo Requests
Charlene,

Earlier today you submitted 6 photo requests (Gish and Austerman) for the Fairhaven Cemetery. I saw them and claimed them. I just checked and for some reason the requests are missing. Did you remove those requests by any chance? For some reason, photo requests that I've been claiming have been disappearing before I can get out the fulfill them.

Thanks,

Margi
