Margaret A Clark
Dear Carol,
Hi! I am writing about the gravesite for Margaret A Clark in "Old Spencer" plot in Rose Hill cemetery. I wondered if you have any connection with the Clark family. I think this either is the wife of Isaac Clark and mother of Almadelia Ann Clark, one of my ancestors, or possibly their child who died at age 8 if the 1840 date is correct. I cannot find Isaac's first wife's grave information. I just know that he remarried by October of 1849, so I am wondering if the mother and daughter died of the same thing at the same time.

If you would like to compare notes on genealogy, please message me. Thanks so much.

transfer of Brown memorials in Livonia Cemetery
Hello Carol,

I may have made these requests before but neglected giving you my contributor number, 48599023. Sorry about that. I would like you to transfer the following Brown memorials to me because I am a family member. Delia Brown was my great grandmother and John Wesley Brown was my great grandfather; the other Browns are also family members. Florence Brown Wright was my grandmother, the mother of my father, Earl Franklin Wright. He is in one of the pictures that I posted. You will notice that I have added a few pictures, have management of some of the Brown memorials and have created some new ones. The memorials that I request transferred are Delia Brown 28451640, Jesse Brown 28451654, Cora Brown 28451675, Otto Brown 28451690, Etta Brown 28451700, and John Wesley Brown 28451625. There may be other memorials of my family members that I haven't gotten to yet since I am new at doing this.

I greatly appreciate this.

Kathleen Miller Marshall Voyles
She is already on Find A Grave under Kathleen Miller Marshall. #76118088. And she is already linked up with both her husbands. She was buried with Homer Marshall so you will find her under Marshall. Tombstone pictures are there too. So you might want to delete your memorial.
Thanks, Carolyn

Edward L Clark / Rose Hill
Carol,

The information you put in for Edward L Clark at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bloomington...you list the year of death as 1871. Information I am finding on Ancestry indicates year of death 1876 (same month, day as what you have listed).

Can you verify if the year is 1871 or 1876? The photo looks like the 1 could be a 6.

Elenor Tilford
Hi Carol, I made an entry for Elenor Tilford but had her in the wrong cemetery. I just now moved her to Rose Hill, memorial # 23685154. Since your entry has a photo of the headstone, would you mind transferring the information from my memorial to yours for Elenor, then I will delete mine? The link to her husband is # 23666477. Thank you.

Hi. Do you know if the name 'Malinda' is etched on the headstone. All I've been able to find is Lorinda through numerous censuses.

I am a Wright researcher - kin to both Levi & Sarah [separately, as they were 2nd or 3rd cousins]

Any information is appreciated. Thanks for posting the info on her.

WILLIAM BECKETT DEAD
Peaceful End of an Old Citizen and Soldier

The death of William J. Beckett occurred Thursday night shortly before twelve o'clock at his home on East Kirkwood Avenue. Mr. Beckett was 77 years of age and was well known in the city. For the past three weeks his condition has been critical. His death was caused by dropsy of the heart with which he has been afflicted for a number of years. He was a quiet and unassuming citizen and by his gentle manner and kind ways had made many warm friends.

William J. Beckett was born in White County, Va., in the year 1818 and was 77 years old March 5th, 1895. He was the fourth child of a family of 12 children, all of whom have passed away. His parents moved to Tennessee when he was five years of age, remaining there 15 years. At that time, Mr. Beckett came to Monroe County where he has since remained. He was married to Miss Jane Lockhart in 1870 who died in the spring of 1895 leaving no children. He enlisted in the war of 1861 in July, in Co. I of the 22nd Ind., commanded by Jeff C. Davis. He made a good soldier during the war.

He united with the Methodist Church in his youth and since coming to Bloomington he united with the Baptist Church of which he remained a consistent member until his death. He was a farmer by occupation. He leaves behind him one sister, Mrs. Anna Smith of Marshall, Ill., who is 70 years old.
