RE: William Pembleton, Co. K, 86th Illinois
Dear Darcy, I'm sure you have seen a lot of them. Civil War veterans frequently will have a cast iron G.A.R. Star on their graves even if they do not have government stones. Sometimes they will have both. In any case, Thanks for all you have already done. The picture was good for what you had to work with. I'm just glad to see how his grave is marked and know that his grave is marked. I would love to get a transcript of an obituary though. It would probably give me a better idea of what he was involved in and tell me more about the family. Thanks for the offer. I hope you have some luck. Thanks mostly for what you are doing for Find A Grave. Many Contributors, LIKE YOU, have helped me to see pictures of tombstones that I really KNEW that I was never ever going to see and I can't begin to describe what that means to me. So, from the bottom of my heart, THANKS FOR ALL YOU ARE DOING AND FOR ALL YOU WILL YET DO FOR FIND A GRAVE AND THE PEOPLE WHO LEARN SO MUCH ABOUT THEIR FAMILY FROM IT. THANKS!! SINCERELY, Baxter

Sorry about the last blank e-mail. I clicked on it too fast. Thank you for taking the picture of Irene and going the extra mile to create one for her husband Lyle. Your help is greatly appreciated.
