Hi Jamaya

If you are interested? I can invite you to my family tree on Ancestry.com. I have the Owen's family going a ways back. I have your great grandfathers siblings as well, with some stories and photos of a few of them. Let me know. You can email me at

lesliearrington@yahoo.com

If you could scan the photo and wedding invitation then email them to me that would be great. Would it be a problem with me using these copies? I have lots on the Arrington side if your interested, with photos of Dr. Alvin Ray Wiley. I however haven't posted all of the photos I have though.

Yes any further info would be great on Mary Elizabeth Owens. I think she had passed away and they never had children. So there estate or very large home was either taken or given to cousins or something like that. I could get the facts from my husband and his brothers. I know that was a sore subject.

Thanks again Leslie

Hi Jamaya

thanks for the info. I do know that was his wife, however I don't have her location of death, I do have her death date however. Do you know where she is buried? Also I think that she divorced A R Wiley before she died? Do you know if she remarried? If you have any info it would be much appreciated. Thanks Leslie

RE: VanSickle
I seldom go to "find-a-grave" any more and happened to go there this morning and was shocked that a message was posted TODAY!!
I have never done any comprehensive research on the Van Sickle Family. John Van Sickle was a prominent Lawyer in the Auburn area. He was from Cayuga NY, and a direct descendant of John Harris, The first white settler in that area. I am very familiar with his mansion on Grover Street in Auburn, which still exists. I played in the back yard of the mansion is a child.
Mary Van Sickle Wait was a historian in Auburn the history room in the Seymour Library is named in her honor. I have several books by her on the history of the area and I have her obituary on file.
From your message on find-a-grave it appears that you are in Auburn at this time. If you care to talk with me, you may can reach me by phone at 252-9446 or email me at ohhistories@verizon.net.
I publish a monthly paper on local history and You can also find the current issue on line at www.ohearnshistories.com

I don't think there is any one who might know. What I can tell you is that there are
3 Rose markers together
Deborah J
Edward P
Dorothy T
There is 1 marker by its self
Ralph E
There are 2 markers together
Young S
Harriet N
I don't know if this is of any help but maybe
some of these names will help.

Unfortunatley I do not have a plot section for Guy.

Last summer when I was in Kingsville I photographed Lulu Falls. I walked the cemetery and took photos of all the grave markers.
There are some Rose markers in the section on the left as you enter the cemetery and there are some more Rose markers in the section in the middle right in front of you as you enter the cemetery. I suspect he is buried with one of them.
I did not however find a marker for Guy. The records that were added to find a grave came from records that were copied by the D A R Western Reserve Chapter in 1971.

If I can be of any more help, please let me know.

RE: Fernand Lacassagne
I didn't know who his family members were, but I just checked his obituary and birth record.

Parents: Sophie Timmermann (probably Zimmermann) & Laurent Lacassagne

DOB 8/16/1882

Children: Duncan James, Lloyd Laurent, Ralph Malcolm Lacassagne; and Mrs. Philip Zazulak.

If you need his obituary or the information on how to order his birth/death certificates from the state, let me know and I'll send the information via email.

I see who you mean now.
I see by my earlier message that I sent you below that you were refering to Olive Fern (Cook) Schurlock so no need to send me the memorial number for her. Thanks so much for letting me know you found her. Have a great day, Marla M.

RE: I think I have located most of them.
You are going to have to refresh my memory on this one. I have done so many memorials on Find A Grave and received so many suggestions that I just don't remember who the person is that you are refering to. Hope you don't mind sending me a memorial number to go along with the name. Thanks, Marla M.

RE: I think I have located most of them.
I sure hope that cousin in Texas can help you with info. about the Cook family. Let me know more about what you find after the two of you get together for a visit. Maybe they can fill in the blanks in what I found and hopefully add some of the cemetery info. I am missing. Whenever I go to Kirksville again I see if I can find any obits., etc. while I am there. Have a good day, Marla M.

I think I have located most of them.
I think I have located most of the children of Rice and Leticia Cook. There are only two I wasn't able to find but I will keep looking.

Also have found most of the children of Don Curtis and Effie (Simler) Cook. Two memorials for Roscoe B. #40943737 and Josephine L. (Cook) Murdock #49151615 were created by other contributors. I sent them messages to link them to their parents. The only child of Don and Effie that I haven't found is Olive Fern (Cook) Schurlock. Do you know if she is still living?
Have a great day, Marla M.

Death Certificate for Rice Cook?
There probably is not a Death Certificate for Rice Cook since he died before 1910. Missouri didn't start keeping death records until then but I will keep looking for more info. Yes, Rice Cook was a Veteran according to his stone. My mom, daughter and I visited the Union Temple Cemetery back in 1986 but we didn't take any photos at the time. I can request a photo through Find A Grave and see if someone will take a photo of his stone and post it on his memorial. I just don't have time to take photos. More later, Marla M.
I sure hope you get your family files that are being shipped to you from overseas!

RE: Thanks for making the corrections.
Glad I was able to help. Hope the contributors of your family members transfer them to you. Some are very happy to do so and others are not. Some may take some time in doing so but don't give up. If in 30 days they do not respond you can always go through Find A Grave and get them transfered to you. I will keep looking for info. for Rice & Leticia (some places it has her name as Letitia) Cook. Would you consider just e-mailing each other in the future. It takes me longer to go through Find A Grave since I have the slower dial up connection on my computer. E-mails are a bit faster to download, etc. Have a great day, Marla M.

RE: Thanks for making the corrections.
There are memorials on Find A Grave for Joseph W. Vansickle #46321969 and Olive Fern (Cook) Vansickle #61283179. Also there are memorials for Joseph's parents, Jesse G. Vansickle #49151532 and Etta Ray (Miller) Vansickle #49151509. You should request that these memorials be transfered to you since you are a direct descendent. I sent the contributors of these memorials info. to link this family together but it would be nice if you had control of them so you can make any changes or have suggestions sent to you in the future. I hope this helps. Marla M.
