RE: Nathaniel C Farmer
Oh man, I am so sorry Don. You and your family have my condolences. Take care of things and yourself - I would not have been a nuisance had I known of course. I lost mom at 92 in January and dad at 90 five years ago.
Your probably someteenth cousin,
Keith

Nathaniel C Farmer
Hey Don - try to search U.S., Sons of the American Revolution Membership Applications, 1889-1970 for Mary Garner
Also the applicant was Zella Rice Farmer and th it was to prove on a DAR app for John Fushee Garner 1749 - 1859. Find that thru ancestry , com and read it and you can see where the confusion over a different Nathan Farmer comes in, and proves Mary was not our relative. It is an amazing needle in Haystack I ever found it.

Hi Don,

Did you ever get Netties Death Cert? If so could you scan and send a copy to murphy@eclipse.net/

I am starting to work on it. I am trying to figure out the names of all the Nathaniel C kids. From that great article in Ohio you found, we know that there were purported to be six with one un named the others were Enoch, Nathan Catherine, Levi, Elizabeth. The sixth (or more?) from faulty family trees looks like possibilities are Rachael, Margaret, Edom. Am pretty sure he was not married to a second wife Mary Garner, as I found by accident her history and another Nathan Farmer on a DAR app that strangely had nothing to do with Farmer who fought. Let me see if I can find the link and get back to you tonight.
Keith

Hi Don,

I was looking at messages in Find a Grave and saw yours I THINK I responded to you, but if not let me know by sending a note to my Email address listed there.

A Farmer relative from Mexico, Missouri met me at the graves last month and loved it. If you find a link I think you have, to Levi, I might have 4 or 5 now who will support me when I ask the county to clean it up. Will you support? The squeaky wheel gets the grease!

Keith

Hi Don,

I thought I did, as I need to prove the connection too for DAR. But am on the road for holidays in Indiana now, then to Amarillo TX then KC then back to IN and then NJ. But as I quickly looked, can't find anything. Know that Levi was from surry NC like Nathaniel. Levi homesteaded there in 1829, and looks like Nathaniel came east as an old man to live with relatives the rest of life. If you find concrete let me know. I have looked for obits at local library, let me look more as time allows. If I knew the date when the locals put up the headstone marker, I could fine the obit in paper or the ceremony, but may not have been when he died. My papers are at home. Thanks, maybe we can help each other.

Interesting Don. My son-in-law is from Houston. He and my daughter live in Amarillo, which we are driving to at Xmas from NJ. We actually are official residents of Texas using our daughters house. We grew up in Indiana, but moved from Waco TX to NJ in 87. I helped start Skittles and Starburst for M&M Mars, and was "too successful" and they moved me too home office in Hackettstown NJ. You have even further to travel to I than I do! I think you would enjoy Carroll County and Delphi, perhaps one of the most rural counties in te state.

Don,
This is really good info. You are one of the first Farmers line I have met, havent figured our official relationship, but it is definitely there. I did manage to talk to the daughter of a Robert Farmer before she left the area - he was the last Farmer name in the area. He died about 2 years before I started looking. One would think that with the number of kids, there would still be many around, but no. With you and I looking, maybe we will find others in the tree and maybe a photo! I have been to the Logansport library, and it is helpful. The Delphi Museum is the best place I have found, and Mark Alan Smith the curator is really into this stuff and a nice man and a help. Also the Delphi library is good. You will like the museum housed in the old county seat, but I think they are going to push them out to make way for more govt records. Sad. Where do you live?

RE: Levi Farmer Sr.
Don, good to hear from you! I think I have looked at your public tree. If you want to see mine, the one to look at is Keith Murphy July 2012. Sadly, I do not have a picture of Levi, maybe one of his many siblings would, as Nathaniel had a lot of kids, so if you find any let me know, Levi had several children so maybe one of the branches has a picture. I don't even have a picture of Levi Jr.
My linage is Nathaniel the Rev. soldier is my 4gr grandfather, Levi Sr my 3rd, Levi Jr my 2nd, Margaret Farmer my greatgrandma who married Joe Martin, who had my grandpa Jim Martin, who had my MMom Vivian Marcella Martin Murphy. I do have a picture of Maragaret. What is your Farmer related lineage to Levi Sr? I live in NJ now, but get back to IN often. If you need to email me personally it is murphy@eclipse.net. Stay in touch.

Charles W. Spillman Photo Request
I've done further research and still come up empty. Mt. Hope has been thoroughly indexed and available at: http://incass-inmiami.org/cass/cemeteries/mthope/ and there is no Charles Spillman listed. For the plot number you noted, the above site indicates it is occupied by George Spillman. This is confirmed by:
http://logansport.in.govern.com/ which indicates that plot number is owned by Lydia Spillman and occupied by George Spillman.

Charles W. Spillman Photo Request
Other than the obituary you noted, there is no other evidence to support his burial in Mt. Hope. I don't know what to tell you or even suggest. Maybe someone else will respond to your photo request and have an answer. Sorry I can't be of help.

Charles W. Spillman Photo Request
I don't know where the information came from that Charles is buried in Mount Hope. Neither the published transcription of the cemetery:

http://incass-inmiami.org/cass/cemeteries/mthope/MTHsmitlste.html

nor the GIS mapping of the cemetery:

http://logansport.in.govern.com/

contain any indications of a Charles W. Spillman burial at Mount Hope.

There are references to a burial for a George Spillman whose date of death was 26 May 1911 and date of burial 28 May 1911.

Your very welcome. I photographed all of the Smith's I could find as well, just have not gotten them all uploaded yet. Keep checking back to the graveyard site for Burrow's cemetery and I should have them all up in a couple of days.
