RE: J. B. Throckmorton
Robin, thanks for telling me how the request came. When I request a transfer it is through my home email address and I have not made a request for more than a year. Actually, it was not long after Ancestry came into the picture and I received an email from an Ancestry worker concerning my request. Last night I was checking my folder on this family and found that I had made a copy of his memorial right after creating it. I had forgotten I did this and am so thankful I had. So there will be no problem in redoing his memorial. It is most unfortunate that every ones virtual flowers and notes cannot be recovered. Again, thanks for all you have done on this. Louise

Robin, if I understood you correctly you said you found an email request from me. That is strange as I did not make the request. I was not even aware there was a memorial other than mine. When was it dated? Sure do not understand.

At any rate thank you for transferring yours to me. I was thinking I should have at least said thank you and was getting ready to do so when I discovered an email from you. Louise

Hi, Can you verify that your Morrison memorials in Osaga Cemetery in Bourbon County are in the correct cemetery ? The same photos are posted on Morrison memorials in Prescott Cemetery in Linn County, Kansas. I believe that yours are correct, but just need confirmation so that the others can be removed.

---- Could you please send a message to me through any of my memorials ?

Thank you
Robin I want to thank you for your work you have done. I have been able to find info on my fathers family that I did not know and now I am hoping to learn more about my past. My dad did not talk about his family. Nola Ballinger and the ones with her are my family. Nola was my grandmother. Again thank you for all the work you have done.

RE: James L Hosley
Update someone states they found marriage records for David P Pye in 1887 in Osage County to Mary Shrives and had two children. But nothing can be found other than that.

John E Pye though lived in Kincaid, Rich twp. Anderson Co area into his 70's though (1940 census).

RE: James L Hosley
Thank you very much!
The Pye's are the important part. Opal Pye Moor, daughter of John is buried in Humboldt KS if that helps at all. John's other kids were Elsie and James Al Pye.
Thank you for the help.

I also found a picture of the Holsey house in family photos. Somewhere I read the Hosley family was one of the founding families of Anderson Co. area.

James L Hosley
Question about James L Hosley Find A Grave#56622840.

Do you know anything about a John E. Pye, David P. Pye, Albert West by chance? Where they are buried? anything?

John E. Pye and David P Pye's parents died while they were teenagers. John E. Pye went to work for J.L. Hosley. David P. Pye went to work for Albert West. I noticed James Hosley's wife's maiden name was West. John and David's parents are buried in nearby Deer Creek/Mt Zion Cemetery. Some of the Pye's were born in Ohio which is the same state James Hosley's wife is from I believe.

You found her stone there mem 90247249, she is sister to Columbus. Judging from the condition of Columbus' gravestone maybe wife's is buried in dirt if ever made. thanks for trying to help.

Lundy at Cottage Grove
yes, Robin, my mistake, I even had noted on Columbus' memorial that his wife Nancy Jane McCoy died a week later. Not a year earlier. Sorry. There is a family tree that has a small obit in Humboldt Union which indicates husband died a week earlier but unfortunately no mention of burial location. However as you said, very likely she is buried there with him. I'd like to enter a memorial for her but will wait until can be verified..hopefully. Thanks for your assistance. much appreciated!

RE: Rev Walter Wharton
That would be wonderful. I didn't tell you that Walter baptized my mother in Spirit Lake, Iowa. it took me a very long time to find where they were buried. That cemetery I understand floods every spring, and then I found someone in town that could help me with the tombstone after I found they were all buried there. Thanks so much again. randy

RE: Rev Walter Wharton
You can do you hold Mary Wharton's also? I believe her mother and father are also buried there. They are John Seaton and Elma Guela Bevan Seaton.

It took me a long time to find Mary's burial. I spent a great deal of time about 3 years ago. Now it is on FIND A GRAVE. Go figure. haha. I was just a child when my grandmother got the news that her sister had passed. I was staying with my grandmother at the time. I didn't understand then of course...I was 10 I think. Now, I wish I had all the information she could have passed on to me to fill in some of those blanks.

Thanks for your kindness. Randy

Hi Robin,
Regarding David A. Askren, mem #26121650 in Askren Cem., Woodson Co. KS...the years shown on his memorial are a mathematical puzzle. Doing the math in my head, if he was born in 1832 and died in 1903 his age at death would have been 71, not 32. Other inscriptions on his monument look dubious; near the bottom it shows Askren, near the top is shows Asxren. Can you verify?

Bronson KS Cemetery - j. Bayless
Thank you for uploading the info on my maternal great-great-great grandfather, Jacob Bayless. I have visited his grave a few years back and have noticed that those recording the inscription tend to list his record of Civil War service as belonging to the 16th Kansas Cavalry, which I believe was a militia unit. According to his military records from the Federal government and long family tradition as relayed to and by my maternal grandfather Daniel Bayless, Jacob enlisted in the 6th Kansas Cavalry in late 1861 with his eldest son. He was enrolled in Company I ( EYE )and served until mid-1863 as far as I can tell. Family lore says he was furloughed from Federal service by General James Blunt, a somewhat well known officer from Kansas, after the death of his son. I think due to the eroded nature of Jacob's headstone the Co. and the I are difficult to read and are easily translated as a numeral rather than a letter. Again I very much appreciate the time you have spent in documenting the past and what factually remains of it.

Robin.....You have done an absolutely terrific job photographing most all of Mason Cemetery and for creating memorials for the stones that did not have memorials!

I am very thankful that you take the time to do this and I'm sure everyone that has ancestors or relatives there thank you also!

Hopefully this "pat on the back" will keep you working really hard at taking your photos! HA!

RE: mayse hixon
Robin, The transfer would be great and then I can addd some information to them as well. I contacted a funeral home in Tacoma and I am ordering a headstone for Mayse. I am going to see my mom who lives up there the week of the 25-31 May.
The monument company may be able to make and have the stone in place while I am there so I can get a picture of it to put here. Thanks Sam
